Several years ago I posted an inquiry regarding Hubbel B. Ames from East Lyme Connecticut. Since then, I've located his death record on 22 April 1867 in East Lyme, age 64. I also found a Russel Ames who was born in Waterford but appears to have been the blacksmith in East Lyme. So, what's the connection? Russel Ames died in East Lyme on 2 May 1863. He was 74 years old. His estate paid a settlement to Hubble B. Ames, however at 13 years Hubbel's senior he is not old enought to be his father (brother/cousin?). Also included in the Russel Ames family records was a sheet of paper with the following list, yet no information offered as to the meaning:
April 7th 1828 - Ames, Moses ; Ames, Hubbel
April 2, 1832 - Ames, Lyman
April 4, 1836 - Ames, Enoch
April 3, 1837 - Ames, Daniel
April 2, 1838 - Ames, Jonas L; Ames, Benjamin G
April 1, 1839 - Ames, Marvin
Most of these individuals can be found in the 1830/1840 Census in either Waterford or East Lyme Connecticut. Can anyone think of a connection? Any assistance is appreciated greatly!
