Hi, I found a great website, look up the Alberts and there is tons of info on our relatives, Galliens. I think the female Gallien is my grandfathers sister. He was Maxium Gallien. http://www.joe2557.com

I'm Doreen Gallien, Daughter of Francis and Marie (Mallett). Live in Athol Ma, we must be relatives. With the Galliens, they live a long... time and I found research that takes us back to Rome actually, but I can't find it anymore?? Good luck, Doreen catwomen5@yahoo.com

Michelle-
Sorry, it was too early in the morning. Mere married Gervaise, not Germaine. I'm looking to tie that generation into the tree with documentation. I can get from Francoise(1658) to Charles(1840) but lack documentation from there to me (1932). Mere was, I believe a Babbin, but can't find any record.

Hi Again Cousin
Am I correct that Mere was a Babbin? If so, do you have any info on her parents or line? Your aunt was very nice to write to me... we decided that we had missed a lot growing up - I knew of her, she knew of me .... but that's about all.

I became discouraged in trying to sort out all the Amiraults, and kind of left this branch of my family research for a while .. began looking at the English side (Durgins).

To say the least, the two sides of my family didn't understand each other. In addition to major differences in background and religion, small things - like my father speaking only French to me at home, kind of lead to problems and ultimately divorce. I was adopted when I was an adult (1951) by my motheer's second husband who was a great guy.

However many times I wished my name were Amirault ( I would keep it that way, not "Amero"), and that I could speak the French fluently. However, in college, where I needed two foreign languages to graduate, the teacher passed me only if I agreed never to take another French course, ( I was so bad!).

I would appreciate any info you may have supporting the descendancy to the next generation after Charles (1840)

Bob

Hi Michelle
A few years ago I corresponded with Rita Amero,as it turns out,my cousin. Her mother was Cereta. We are descended from Francoise Amirault of Amirault's Hill Nova Scotia. Francoise (dit "Mere") had two husbands, brothers. From her first marriage she had two children Louis Edmond, whom I suspect is your grandfather, and Della. Upon the death of her first husband she married Germaine Amirault and had two children by him - Angie, and Charles Leger Amirault - my father. The family settled in the vicinity of Lynn Mass.
here is the line of Oliver Mero descendants of Francois Amirault dit Tourangeau

Richard, I contacted you a few months back when I had very little information about family history prior to my great grandfather Oliver Mero. Since then I have been able to find documentation which connects him with the Amireault name. As I understand it, this is how the lineage goes:
My father, Bernard J. Long was the son of Sophie Mero and bartholemew Long.
Sophie Mero was the daughter of
Olivier Amireault ( Who was later known as Oliver Mero ) married to Sarah Labonte.
Oliver was the son of Francois Amireault and Agathe Perrault.
Francois Amireault was the son of Frederic Amireault and Marie Therese Latulipe.
Frederic Amireault was the son of Louis Amireault and Marie- Joseph Richard.
Louis Amireault was the son of Joseph Amireault and Marguerite Lord.
JosephAmireault was the son of Francois Amireault and marie Pitre. It has been a fascinating process which has uncovered family members I didn't know of. My family didn't know that our grandmother Sophie was one of 11 children. Since this process began I have made contact with two families that descend from 2 of my grandmothers sisters. If you are aware of other connections which I may have overlooked please let me know. I am tentatively planning a trip to Nova Scotia this summer.

Sincerely Theresa

Hi Shirley.

Again, my dad was an only child. His dad, my grandfather died when my dad was 16.

When I was younger (I am now 35) my dad's mom would never speak of her husbands family. It wasn't until I was older (30 something) that she started opening up, but then she died in '99 and the information she gave me was still word of mouth and the only thing she had to back it up was the obituary.

The SSDI does not have my grandfather on their list but I do have his SS# which was 170-24-4491, according to the military information that I have. I need to find the Coast Guard report of the Search and Rescue attempt of my grandfather. My grandmother gave it to me years ago and although I keep everything my organizational skills in my 20's were poor =)

Do the names I supplied from the obituary match the information you have on Denis and Fannie's children ? Do you have the childrens birthdates and if so does the birthdate of February 15, 1916 match any of the children ?

I'd love to see some pics btw. My personal e-mail address is jamero@earthlink.net

Hi Shirley,

The problem is I really don't have any solid information on my grandfathers side, except for some military information. The rest is word of mouth.

My grandmother, Josephine Decky Amero, died in '99. She always said (and so does my dad) that her husband John Amero was the same John in the Gilbert obituary (John Amirault.) My grandfather died in a fishing/drowning accident when my dad was 16 years old. I have some military records/information of my grandfather, but it looks like he enlisted as John Amero and wrote a birthdate of February 15, 1916, born in Gloucester, MA.

According to my grandmother, and father, my grandfather had changed his name and lost contact w/ his family in MA because of it. Why I do not know.

My father is an only child and says (and my mom backs this up too) his great grandfather and grandmothers names were Denis and Fannie.

My grandfathers first enlistment was August 21, 1938 in Portland, MA. for 3 years 10 days. During my grandfathers second enlistment, he enlisted May 19, 1942 in Boston, MA. and got out October 20, 1945. The military information I have is that his address the second time was 4 Stanley Terrace Saugus, ME, with 2 dependants.

My fathers birthday is June 10, 1943.

I think they had 9 children, 3 boys (names unknown) 6 girls: Beatrice, Stella, Mary, Agnes, Norah and Louise. Pierre Rene's father was Francois Amirault and his mother was Anne Charlotte Bourque. Does any of it tie into your lineage? Thanks, Marie

do you have info on Peter Hilar Amirault m. Frances Deveau

Hi Joe,
My name is Mona Amirault Whiteman and I am wondering if we might be related. My dad was Peter Wilfred Amirault and he was born in Haverhill, MA on 18 March 1934 to Peter Hilar Amirault and Frances Deveau. He died 10 December 1996. His brothers are Norman, John, and Joseph David (goes by David). My dad lived in Somerville, I think. I know his parents did because when we went up to MA to visit them, we visited them in Somerville. My Uncle Norman lives in Medford, but he winters in NC. My dad's dad (Peter Hilar) was born in Digby, NS in 1898 and his mom (Frances) in Meteghan, NS, in 1900 or 1902. I was wondering if you could help me with my genealogy, might have any information that might be helpful. My dad didn't know much, just that his dad's dad died when his dad was young and his dad's mom remarried, to a guy named Tom Welsh. Any information you have will be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me at yarnqueen@hotmail.com. Thank you. Mona
