My earliest Ammon is Joseph who died 1733 in King George Co. VA. His son Thomas Ammon married Sarah Edington 24 July 1733/34 in St. Paul's Parizh, VA They had a daughter Margaret who married John Hereford, and a son Thomas who married Elizabeth Anderson 8 September 1767 in Louisa Co. VA. Thomas was a Baptist minister who died 1811 in Bourbon Co., KY. Thomas and Elizabeth had 11 daughters, one of whom, Elizabeth Ammon, was born 3 June 1774 in Louisa Co., VA. She married Robert McClelland 3 January 1799 in Millersburg, Bourbon Co., KY and had 10 children by him. In 1827 Elizabeth and Robert moved to Calloway Co. MO where she died 6 August 1831. Rev. Thomas Ammon's other children who all married before 1811 were: Margaret who married John Steers, Fanny who married William Holladay between 1790 and 1796 and who died between 1814 and 1819; Nancy who married Samuel Arnett, Sally who maried Cornelius Hall, Susannah who married James McClelland (Robert's brother) and who died before 1811, Cleary who married James Ward, Mary "Polly" who married Joesph McClintock Nesbit, Patsy who married James Pointezter, and 2 more daughters.
