My grandfather was partners in banking in Kennewick, WA, in Benton County, WA with Amon. You have seen the East Benton County Historical Society Museum website I think. If you look at the "townsite," which is a pdf file, it will give you more information about the town fathers and the photos of their homes. I just found this Amon connection today!! My grandfather L.E. Johnson, (home was built in 1906), was mayor and in banking with Amon and later opened an insurance agency. He and his wife have a Walla Walla, Waitsburg, Columbia Co. connection. I went to high school with an Amon but have not talked to him about this. The EBC has what I call the "orange book," a huge book for sale with the history of Kennewick about 25.00. Kennewick High school has a website that comes up on a google search. You can post a message there to find any relatives too. In June 10-11, 2004 there will be an "all," Kennewick class reunion and they have a huge photo display and books for sale at the fairgrounds. I go there often and need to visit the museum and see what they have. You might email them and ask them to "photocopy the Amon file folder." I have found these places have kept old manila folders full of stuff, they will copy them all for a donation. Also, do the same for the Franklin County Museum, which is huge, it would have been one newspaper in the whole area and they will also have clippings in a file cabinet, I have seen it!! Please send me an email. Are you in WA?
