HI Ava:
My Uncle Rudy Peterka was a mechanic and my Aunt Mable (who went up later) was a waitress in the dining hall. The book is called "The Alaskan Highway a Saga of the North" It has various pictures of the endeavors that these people faced while working on the highway. Many workers signed my Aunt Mable's copy of the book. Rudy and Mable returned to Narka, Kansas after their tour. I remember Rudy telling me that he got off the train before it went across the Canadian line because he was carrying too much cash. Mable went on the train and met up with him later. Rudy took his money and started a very nice mechanic shop in Narka, Kansas. They both are now deceased. They had no children. I am their nephew and would like to get this book into the hands of someone who might pass it on in their family. (We also have no children). If you would like us to send you the book, we would be most happy to. Please give us your mailing address and we will send the book to you next week.
