Hi Derek
Great to hear from you.
I only got back to the 1700's (just a personal time factor for me, work, family, study) but have been in contact with other Amon's such as Doug Brouton in Hawera who has provided me with additional information for Samuel AMON. Your information was new to me and very interesting.

Would welcome contact any time, or if I can help you with anything from my line.
Lynn

Hi

Our family knew and often looked in and out for a Ray Amon in Port Hedland circa 1982-1992.

Ray was once a crack sniper with the AIF in PNG in WWII and saw some serious active service. Ray's skills were much to do with his many years as a Roo shooter in the 1960's and 70's.

This is particularly poignant tonight as I write this because it is the eve of Anzac Day.

If it is the same man please feel free to contact me.

Earl Digby
dukezone@optusnet.com.au
61412116699

It seems that there are more Amon's than I thought. I am looking for information on my grgrandfather Edward Amon who married Edith Jane Briggs in San Bernardino, California in 1893. We think he was born in Indiana in 1865 and he may have come to California with a brother Albert. He died in 1896 and is buried in the San Bernardino Pioneer Cemetery.

Edward and Edith had one child, a son Archie Alfred Amon my grandfather. Archie married Fern Nicholson and had 13 children. My father was John Alfred Amon.

If this looks at all fimilar would you please let me know. We have not been able to locate any information on the Amon side of the family.

HI Ava:
My Uncle Rudy Peterka was a mechanic and my Aunt Mable (who went up later) was a waitress in the dining hall. The book is called "The Alaskan Highway a Saga of the North" It has various pictures of the endeavors that these people faced while working on the highway. Many workers signed my Aunt Mable's copy of the book. Rudy and Mable returned to Narka, Kansas after their tour. I remember Rudy telling me that he got off the train before it went across the Canadian line because he was carrying too much cash. Mable went on the train and met up with him later. Rudy took his money and started a very nice mechanic shop in Narka, Kansas. They both are now deceased. They had no children. I am their nephew and would like to get this book into the hands of someone who might pass it on in their family. (We also have no children). If you would like us to send you the book, we would be most happy to. Please give us your mailing address and we will send the book to you next week.
Kaye and Janie Mach

Robert Amon & Anna Schweizer - Staten Island, NY

Looking for info about Robert Amon (1911-1984) and his wife, Anna Schweizer (1913-1998). I believe they had two sons, Robert and Richard, sometime after 1933. Anna was the daughter of Rudolf & Blanche Schweizer, and the granddaughter of Severin Schweizer (@1953, Switzerland) and Magdalena "Lena" Meyer (@1857, Prussia). Please contact me at lmpetit@cox.net. Thanks.

Hi cousin!

I have even less info I'm afraid being in the UK, but my grandfather was your grandmothers brother Everett Carr Amon. He died in action in Belgium, 1944.
Unfortunately Everett's living decendants will not be aware of mine as my grandmother was not married to Everett, they met during the War.
