Hi,Frank, I looked up the family name at the local library a few years ago in Pacific Grove Ca.It said that amor means from the moores or fields,that Moore or Attamore or any variation have the same meaning.The problem ia that "amor" has a much different meaning in French or Italian or Spanish.Large numbers of workers came to Britain as cheap labor long ago, some ended up in Whilts.My dad was born in Cornwall , he said the family scattered some to"Ausiland "some to New Zeland some to America.Good Luck !! with your search,anyone that plays football without a helmet needs good luck...John T.
