My Grandfather was named James Wofford Amos and lived in Gaffney, South Carolina, from April 16, 1878 to March 1956. I was told that his father was named Christopher, but I am not certain that is correct. Since Gaffney is just a short distance from Spartanburg, I thought there might be some connection.
