No - my husband is a Fox and I believe that he is descended from James Fox and his first wife, Sarah Reese(if he indeed married her). James married second Susan Hamm. I have traced the descendants of this family.

You must be Mary Elizabeth Gordon's child. If so, my mother is your mother's cousin - Ann Hauslein Potterfield.

I've been looking a long time for the right Amsler family for Muzzy. Have you ever heard that Muzzy was adopted at an early age? All of my sisters recollect that statement, but no details.

I have Mary Elizabeth Amsler b. 10 Dec 1871 d. 28 Mar 1941 in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of Solomon and Ann Elizabeth (Fox) Amsler. Ann Elizabeth died 13 Jul 1872. I have Mary Elizabeth (Maime) Amsler married to John Armstrong who could very possible be William John Armstrong and they are living in Philadelphia in 1902. If you will send me your email address I will scan a wonderful mortgage record showing that Mary Elizabeth is descended from James and Susan (Hamm) Fox.

I have been trying to find my great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth (also called Mame), born about 1873. She was either born an Amsler or another name, possible Housholder, and then raised by the other family. She married William J. Armstrong and lived in Philadelphia. I understood that her mother's name was Fox, and that she died shortly after Mary Elizabeth was born.

I posted the information about the Amslers because when my aunt died in San Diego, there was a painting which Ellen Amsler loaned to her. It had instructions to return it to her daughter if she were dead. I had to do genealogy research to find her, but I succeeded and packed it up and sent it to her. I may have responded earlier, but I am in process of reconstructing Amslers.com hosted by GoDaddy and formerly hosted by austin.rr.com. Your entry mentioned an Amsler referenced on my new web site.

I would welcome hearing from you as to your comments or any additional images or links that I may incorporate into this family site, Amslers.com, which is a recently acquired domain name.

We visited Kentucky a few years back when joining a riverbarge tour down river to St. Louis.

I am searching for information about Ester Amsler. She married Johannes Kugler in 1841 (either July 8, 1841 or March 28, 1841) in Egnach, Thurgau, Switzerland. I am hoping to learn the names of her parents and siblings or any other information about them. Johannes (John) Kugler, (born 1849) son of Ester Amsler and Johannes Kugler, came to America in 1866. He is buried in Cross Timbers, Missouri, U. S. A. My husband is his grandson.

im sure you could be of some help i get lost tracking hans ulrich because a son he had was jacob amsler but the birth records show two jacobs born the same month and year different days? so that is where i get lost it could be hans who is my 3rd great grandfather or it could be a samuel amsler?

How exciting. I am also related to Hans Ulrich Amsler! Samuel and Elizabeth were in Hardin Co., Ohio. One of their sons Harmon is where my line comes from. Do you have all the information on this family line? Perhaps I could be of some help.

I think my family is/was related to Charles, but I'm not the one to ask about it. I have a cousin in Marshall, MI he will know alot about that stuff. I think he even has a picture of them. His name is Donnie Amsler and I think he has a web site, but I'm not sure. Well got to go now, if you want to write me it would be ok. Has anyone run across Amblser as an alternate form of Amsler? I am related to Amelia ? Amblser b. circa 1815 in Hanover, Germany. I have info on her after she arrived in Covington Kentucky, sometime before 1870, but am looking for more. I think she was married to Christian Amblser, but I don't know her maiden name.

I am a descendant from Casimir Amsler (and possibly Lorenz and Samuel Amsler) who left Switzerland in the 1850's and settled in St. Louis. I'm looking for information about Casimir before he came to America and his ancestors in Switzerland. Might there be Amsler's currently living in Swtzerland that are related?

many brothers and sisters of this family went to America. In the recoreds I saw, that there was no comment about going to America. He married on 16. January 1860 probabely, he was born on 30. March 1821. He married Margaretha Imhof, born 6. April 1829, died 22. Nov. 1899. This informations are from Billeter research and be careful with this informations, sometimes there are little mistakes.

I doubt that we are relatives -- your Magdelena and mine. Mine is most likely of Scandinavian origin, Protestant (probably Lutheran) and lived in/around the turn of the century (1900) in southeast Iowa.

Amazingly, my father's sister (killed in the Halocaust) was named Magdalena Franzcesca Amster. She was likely born in Vienna as was my father, Herbert Hugo Amster, 8/19/1898. We have always wondered about extended family members and if any descendants remain.

Mary Amsler of Iowa, married an S. Victor and they lived in Omaha from 1910 - 1918. Had a son named Walter.

The reason I am searching is my mother is looking for my great grandmother's family. She had a sister named 'Mary' who married a 'Victor'. There was also 2 additional sisters,

I am searching for information on my great grandmother, Magdelena Amster (possibly incorrect) or Amsler. Records indicate a marriage in Johnson County *Iowa City, Iowa on Jan 8, 1878 of "Lena" Amsler to Leonard Oswald (name of g-grandfather). Fred H. Oswald would be a son. Do you talk about Theodor Amsler, born 1825, married to Theresia Zuendel coming from Schaffhausen in Switzerland. He was from Schinznacht in Canton Aargau in Switzerland (origin place). Theodor was many years in America and he went back to Switzerland again. He died in 1888 in Switzerland. He had an society making "Apparate" in Feuerthalen in Switzerland. Children: Bertha, Martha, Heinrich (Henry) and Wilhelm (Bill). Theodors fahter was Jakob Amsler, born 1788, died 1862, Dr. med. (mediciner). His wife was Lisette Hurter.

Yes, it is possible, that Ansler was a mistype of Amsler. Please verify if possible, the fathers name and other ancester if Sophia Ansler. Just have a look on my homepage with the different spelling an writing of this familyname.

AMSLER, JANE Ph.D. Dr. Jane Amsler, 57, died unexpectedly on February 3, 2003, in San Diego. Dr. Amsler was a respected clinical psychologist in private practice in La Jolla since 1987. She was an active member of the San Diego Psychological Association and served as a clinical instructor at U.C.S.D. and adjunct faculty at the School of Professional Psychology, San Diego. Jane was born in Fitchburg, Mass., the first child of Jim and Frances Amsler. She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1966, with a B.A. Magna Cum laude in Social Relations. She was a Fullbright scholar in France and served as a staff psychologist in the Peace Corps in Africa. In 1975, she earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Harvard University. Jane was a gifted therapist, a loving mother and great and true friend to many. She will be profoundly missed. Jane is survived by her son, Daniel Zweifach of La Jolla, James T. Amsler of Chatham, Mass; two sisters, Mary Amsler of San Francisco and Patricia Amsler of Whidbey Island, Washington; and a brother, James Amsler Jr. of Chatham, Mass.
