Trying to track down a family lore -- it has been said that Roald Amundsen was the nephew of my great-great-great-grandfather, Aslak Amundson. The earliest information that I have is that Aslak (b. Moregedahl (Telemarken) Norway) - married Annie Strand (b. 1830 ) they immigrated to the US (said to have first stayed in the Climax, Minneosta area) in 1875. They had 8 children: Annie (m. Ole Dale), Julia, Hattie, Alice, Tolna, Halvor and 2 sons who died in Norway before 1875. Can anyone help me close the loop on this. Any information on Aslak or on Roald would be wonderful. Thanks!!
