I believe you tie to two lines that connect to my lines. My grandmother was Rose Charland/Sharland who married Delbert Fayette (b Chasm Falls, NY, m& d Plattsburgh). I'll go with Delbert's line first. He had a brother, Chester, (Syracuse) whose daughter, Harriet, married a Ledger. I am in contact with Lynn Ledger.
Rose Charland/Sharland was the daughter of Louis Charland and Celia Jette (of French, Irish, and Indian descent.) Louis' father was Abraham, who settled in Keeseville, NY about 1850. The story is that he was given land by a rich settler in Keeseville. Abraham's son served in the Civil War in place of this man's son and supposedly was killed. Edward, Abraham's brother, also settled on this land. They were shoemakers. There was also a brother, Nelson, who settled in the Saranac Lake area. I have a lot more on this family.
