SOME Villeneuves descend from Mathieu Amyot, Sieur de Villeneuve, as I am. There are other variations to that Amyot line, such Amyott, Amyotte, Amiot, Amiott, Amiotte, etc.. If you think you may belong to the Amyot-Villeneuve lines please contact me as I am still researching them. Many Villeneuves come directly from France; they are not connected to the Amyot (&variations of that surname)Villeneuve line. There is a Benjamin Amiot-Villeneuve in an Amyot line who might be the one you are looking for.
