Hi Gloria,
your posts have been quite helpful! I just posted to someone who responded to you but wanted to share the same info here.My great, great grandfather, George Emack was listed on the 1880 census as living in Madison Ct ( where I am from)and was married to maria. he was a harness maker. he listed his parents as both being born in Ireland. He is buried in Madison Ct as well. Also, you may know this already....but have you researched Captian George Emack from the Company B First maryland calvary? he is written about in Retreat From Gettesburg on page 137. There is also a photo. Any info on the Emack family will be of great help!
