Marie (Hakanson) ANACKER Marie Anacker was born to Olaf and Hulda Hakanson on October 13, 1929, in Seattle. She graduated from Franklin High school class of 1948. After graduating from University of Washington with a bachelors' in social work, she was employed with the state of Washington's department of Health Services, worked at Boeing, met Donald Kirschner and had three children, Janet, Kenneth and Susan. The Kirschners lived in Los Angeles until 1971, New Orleans (from 1971 to 1974), and San Diego (from 1974 to 1978). Besides the state of Washington and Boeing, she also worked at San Diego's Hale Jr. High, EDD for the state of California, and NCR. When the children's father died in 1978, Marie visited San Jose to see her friend from Boeing, Richard Anacker. Friendship turned to love and they married in 1980. she lived in San Jose until 1987. Marie helped Richard build their dream home in Grants Pass Oregon.gardened, bird watched, and was an avid reader. She had a great sense of humor, loved her grandchildren, family, friends, cats and dogs and sharing her love of life. She was active in the Audubon and Humane societies. She joined her beloved Richard on May 7, 2009, age 79. Her children, stepson, nieces and nephew, and five grandchildren survive her.A memorial service will be held this summer in Grants Pass Oregon. Marie lived her life by the words, "It is more blessed to give than to receive!" Burial at Eagle Point Veterans Cemetery - August 14, 2009. Memorial service on August 15, 2009 in Grants Pass, OR.
