your Grandmother Bertha(Boots) Anaheim had a sister named Ehel Marie born 8-22-1904. She married Edd Bryant Mabry and they had 8 children and lived in McDowell county West Virginia. Katherine (Katie) was one of those children now deceased. I recently started searching this family line as it is my husband and daughters line. I am awaiting more information from 2 of katies sisters. I would be glad to share when I receive it. I am also interested in any information you have on the Anaheim side. there were several more siblings to bertha.

Hi Helen, thank you for the reply. Yes I am carole's middle daughter. I went back to read the previous post's and yes I think I got your reply in 2005.:)do you have a direct e-mail so I can e-mail you? I am actually working with Don Jenkins, to find more info on My mom's dad, Daniel lee Jenkins. Died in the early 60's.
The anaheim's seem to be the only ones who knew or met him. e-mail me if you can direct at ardewey@comcast.net.

Thanks so much for the information. I am sure that these are relatives. My morther, Ethel Anaheim spoke many times of the Easters and the Eubanks. I sure wish I had paid more attention when I was younger. Are you the daughter of Aunt Boots' daughter Carol? I wondered if you ever got my message that I posted in response to your inquirey about her.

Thank you for the reply, sorry SO long replying:) Unless I e-mailed you directly. Yes, same family, have found more relatives of anaheim name.
relatives from switzerland. there are two EDWARD A. ANAHEIMS. a JR AND SR. ed anaheim born 1/12/1856 in PA, died 12/1/1925 in mcdowell cty WVA.
this was jr. His dad ed ed anaheim was born in switzerland, however his mom was sarah easter, born in PA. a Helen ahaneim submitted this info. Adrain anaheim died mercer co WVA 5/26/1930 he was born 12/12/1847 his dad was christian anahim born in switzerland. Mother unknown. This info was reported by a mrs. william eubanks. My Grandmother was BERTHA AKA BETTIE ANAHEIM-JENKINS Her siblings were JOHN AND ADRAIN.-
HER parents were Edward Adrain ANAHEIM AND Flora Belle Wright.
This family name has been hard to trace, but should be easy. not a common name.
I was told Flora Belle died in West Virginia somewhere.
Bertha was born in west virginia 03/24/1913.

From the stories told by my Mother and sisters, Flora Bell Wright and Edward Adrain Anaheim came to West Virginia from Denver Colorado. My Grandfather, died before I was born in 1941and I'm not sure if it was West Virginia. Flora Belle remarried a Clark (don't know first name). She lived in Washington, D.C. for awhile (I remember visiting her there as a child). She spent her last days in Oak Hill, West Virginia with my Aunt Tootsie and Uncle Bud. There was also another sibling whose name was Jenny, not sure of either of the surnames. Aunt Violet is still living in Shalimar, Florida. She is the last surviving sib in that family unit.
I do remember your mother visiting my family in Premier, West Virginia. It is good to meet a cousin, even if only by internet.

How is MABRY connected to Anaheim? Unfortunately so little is known about the surname. My Grandmother's Sirname is Bertha aka Boots Anaheim. She was born in Mistletoe WV 3/24/1914- She was married to Daniel Lee Jenkins. Her parents were Edward Adrain Anaheim married to Flora Belle Wright. Supposedly they lived and died in W.V however no idea where. cannot track much of the surname anywhere. I did find alot of Anaheims coming from Switzerland,France & Germany.My moms Uncle was Jack Anaheim { florida-Deceased} and his sister Violet, Still living in Shalimar Florida. very possible related somehow. e-mail me at adewey52@aol.com tell me how connected. I am also looking for information on West Virginia Anaheims. I have a Kathryn Lee Mabry who was born on 21 April 1921 in McDowell County, West Virginia. The state birth index lists her mother's maiden name as being Mabry but, despite several tries, was not able to find her name in the McDowell County Birth Register for that year and surrounding years. Do you have an Anaheim/Mabry (sometimes Mayberry or Maybury) connection?
