I have just recently started doing this, but I have a Great Aunt Zella Mae (Anderson). I don't know her personally, but the dates sound about right. Her brother was my grandfather. His name was Troy Russell Anderson born in 1926. There were 12 or 13 brothers and sisters. I have most of the names. Let me know if this helps. Maybe you may be able to help me too. Email me at csar244@yahoo.com.

Elijah ANDERSON & Fannie BROWNING

I'm currently researching Elijah Anderson and Fannie Browning/Mary McHugh of Lincoln or Morgan County, Missouri.

They were natives of Virginia, Elijah being of English and the Fannie of Scotch descent. Sometime after the 1843 death of Fannie, Elijah Anderson marrried his second wife, Mary McHugh, thought to be a Missouri native.

Their daughter, Susan F. Anderson, was born in Fauquier County, Va., June 30, 1825 and was married in 1843 in St. Louis, Missouri to Dr. William J. Wackerle. They raised their family in Morgan County, Illinois.

Between 1831 and 1835 they moved to Lincoln or Morgan County, Mo., settled on a farm, and resided there until their deaths. Fannie (Browning) Anderson died in 1843, and Elijah Anderson died in January, 1888, at the age of ninety-four years.

From A HISTORY OF MORGAN COUNTY AND SOME OF ITS PEOPLE BY
A.G. BAKER, Editor of the VERSAILLES STATESMAN VERSAILLES, MISSOURI, 1907-17, Elijah is found in Township 43, Range 17: February 3rd, 1831, Elijah Anderson, east half northwest section 7.

Little else is known about the family of Elijah Anderson and I am hoping to correspond with anyone having more information on this them.

Thanks ~
Susan F. ANDERSON & Dr. William J. Wackerle - Morgan County, Illinois

I'm currently researching Dr. William J. Wackerle, born in Emmendingen, in Baden-Wurtemburg, Germany February 23, 1819.
He started for America in the fall of 1839, taking passage at Havre on a sailing vessel and landing in New Orleans after an ocean voyage of sixty-three days. He spent one year in Jackson, La., engaged in the practice of his profession, then, coming north, settled in Detroit, Mich.; less than a year thereafter returned south to St. Louis, Mo., and thence, in 1846, came to Morgan County, Illinois.

He married a Miss Susan F. Anderson in 1843 in St. Louis, Missouri. They raised their family in Morgan County, Illinois. Their children were: William F. Wackerle, born in 1849, Dr. Charles J. Wackerle, born in 1855, Louis J. Wackerle, born 16 October 1860, Fannie Ella Wackerle, born October 10, 1862, and Edward J. Wackerle, born in 1865.

I am fairly certain that Dr. William J. Wackerle was visiting and staying with relatives when in Jackson, Louisiana and Detroit, Michigan. I also think that the reason he settled in Morgan County, Illinois is because some of his relatives were already living there at the time.

I've seen numerous family trees with probable descendants and/or extended family members for the Wackerle family in Lousiana, Michigan and Illinois, yet I have not found a family tree linking them all together, either. Thus the reason for this message post, hoping perhaps someone will see a connection in the information above.

I'd love to correspond and exchange information if we have common interests within the Wackerle family.

Thanks !
ANDERSON, Elijah 1794 - 1888, Lincoln County, Missouri

Not much is known about Elijah Anderson except the following:

We believe Elijah married his wife Fannie (Browning) Anderson prior to 1831 in Fauquier County, Va before 1825.

In 1835 they removed to Lincoln County, Mo., settled on a farm, and resided there until their deaths. Fannie (Browning) Anderson died in 1843, and Elijah Anderson died in January, 1888, aged ninety-four years.

The only child (identified so far) born to them was Susan Fannie Anderson on 30 June 1825 in Fauquier County, Va.

Miss Susan Fannie Anderson married Dr. William J Wackerle
(B:23 Feb 1819 Baden, Germany) on 19 Feb 1843, in St. Louis, Mo.

They had 6 children, 5 of whom lived, namely:

William F. Wackerle, Resident of Kansas, Dr. Charles J.Wackerle, Physician of Glasgow, Mo.,Louis Wackerle Resident of Nevada, Mo., Edward Wackerle, Resident of Butler, Mo., Fannie E. Wackerle who married Prof. Harker, DEC 1882, Jacksonville Woman's College, Illinois.

I'd appreciate any information available on this family.

I am currently trying to triangulate whether Elijah had another child, John Marshall Anderson, who married Catherine Wackerle, who may be a sister to Dr. William J. Wackerle..this would be a case of double cousin marriages. I do not have substantiation that Catherine's father was also Jacob Wackerle of Bavaria, who was William's father.
