Andree from Netherlands. Freisland area.

My grand father Ralph Cesar Andree was born somewhere in the Netherlands in the 1800's. He immigrated to the USA when he was a boy. My German grandmother wrote down in her unclear English, that he was born in "Vervort???" or something close to that. Supposedly, this was in the Friesland provinces...

Has anyone any idea what she may have meant?

We do not have his immigration papers, or birth records.
He was married to his first wife Tillie Andree until she died,(many children by her ) then he married my grandmother Johanna Pruesse (Witte) who had my father, plus three other kids.
He was a busy man! He died in 1954 at 92.

Caroline Wilhelmine Andree

Hello: Caroline was born in Zechin, Brandenburg, Germany in 1833, I believe her father was Carl August Andree of Zeckhin. When Caroline was 21 she came to America. the next time I found her was in a city Directory in the town of Lawrence, MA. It seemed that maybe she had married a John Andre. Oddly enough her mother had the same name of Caroline Wilhelmine(Kuhl") I have a lot of data on the Andre, Andree, Andrae family of Zechin. The Father was Carl Auust Andre a master pottery maker. I followed data wise about four of the children that came to Wisconsin and IL. Max Andrae andrae27@yahoo.com. I live in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Thank you

Hi DeAnna,
I believe I contacted you before about Salomon August Andree. I have some info about my relatives who are related to Andree. I have copies of an old newspaper from Texas, telling about the discovery of his camp site, and it has photos of him as a young boy. Also in it is names and photos of my relatives who were his aunt and uncle. Please contact me at "onamarx@hotmail.com "

I also have many pages of info from a genealogist in Sweden who traced my family back to the 1630's. It has proof that my family lived about 25 miles from where Andree lived.

I have some info which may help regarding my Andree Family. My grandfather was a brother of .........
Andree, Adolphus William
(b Jaffna, Ceylon [now Sri Lanka], 26 Sept 1869; d Colombo, 2 July 1910). Ceylonese photographer. His family had practised photography for three generations. His grandfather, Adolphus Wilhelmus Andree (b 1799), was one of the early pioneers of daguerreotypy in Ceylon, and his father, Adolphus William Andree, had a flourishing photographic business between the 1860s and 1880s with studios in the capital Colombo and the provincial towns of Jaffna, Galle and Matara. At 18, he was already working as an apprentice in the studio of an American photographer at Chatham Street, Colombo, using the ferrotype process (see PHOTOGRAPHY, §I). By 1893 he had established the Hopetown Studio, Slave Island, Colombo, which within a decade was one of the most fashionable and best-equipped in the country. Andree earned several awards at the Exposition Universelle, Paris, in 1900 and at the World’s Fair in St Louis, MO, in 1904. In 1901 the government appointed him as one of its official photographers to cover the visit to Ceylon of the Duke and Duchess of York.
.........................................................
Sheila re: Leyne family please email me at .............maryjane_ocl@hotmail.com. thank you.
Ned?Edward = true.

Kathy, Hi cousin! I'm at the library researching my family tree. I have information about Cyrus and Irene Andre. They are my great great grandparents. In addition to Gertrude, they had a daughter named Maggie, who married my great-grandpa, John Goeman. I have other siblings of Maggie and Gertrude, and some "up north" stories. I am writing a book about the Goeman family.

I will not be at the above email address until Aug 20, but you can reach me by snail mail at 2433 Blaine SE Grand Rapids, MI 49507. Please send me your address and I will send you what I have. Thanks for filling in some info on the Cyrus Andre family. I had very little, other than names. My Great Aunt "Shorty" aka Wilhelmina Goeman remembers Bill and Iva. They used to come and have Sunday night supper at John and Maggie's house.

My wife and I have compared the names on your messeage
with what we have. We have many of the name but
it looks like they are the next generation.

Edward Andree Born Oct. 5 1859 has childern that have
some of the same names as the ones on your list. Possibly
they were named after family members.

Edward's father was Christian Andree Born 1818 married to
Edward's mother Anna Elizabeth ardnt.

Edward's sisters were Julia Annie Andree Born 1861 and
Augusta Mary amelia andree and We think there is a
third sister who married a Burkhart.

there maybe others. I will do some more checking to see
if we can connect these people together.

richard Andree

Herman C. Andree

I am looking for a Herman C. Andree who was a grocer in Chicago from 1880 to 1894. Herman died in 1905, leaving a wife Emma Elizabeth, who died in 1923 and four sons named Clarence H., Ralph H., Chester A., and Roy F. Andree. Herman was about 55 years old when he died, so that means he was born in about 1850, it stated he lived 55 years in Chicago. He seemed to be an aquaintance or maybe a relative of Julius Herman Andrae who lived in Mayville, Wisconsin and had a LimeStone Co. Division in Chicago on Cherry Street in 1890, later run by his son Arnold Andrae. Any help would be most appreciated. Herman is buried at the old Walheim Cemetery now Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, IL. Possibly his parents or relatives may also be buried there. Thank you Max Andrae 1010 9th St. South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494. My connection to this is I think the father of Julius H. Andrae was Carl August Andre' who lived in Zechin, Brandenburg, Germany and that this CArl August Andre' was a brother to my great great grandfather David Friedrich Andree who was a farmer in Griefenberg, Pomerania, Prussia.

I am trying to locate relatives of the Andree family who lived in Bombay then as all 8 children plus one adopted child got married they moved to various lands. My grandfather Bertie Andree was a photographer and had studios in Ceylon and was one of Lumiere's pioneers in this field. Most of the Andree children have now passed away except for Warwick Andree in Victoria Australia and Possibly Peggy Young nee Andree who is also possibly in N.S.W. Australia and has a daughter(Loretta?). My mother was Primrose Hester Martha (ANDREE) Anderson who sadly passed away on 27th June 1999 aged 75yrs and was the youngest of her family. My cousins Carl Daryl Andree, sons of Teal Andree who lived in London and cousins Warwick and Gina from Australia children of Warwick and Gina in Aust.now living in London I think.Any one knowing of the Andree family aforementioned please contact me via e.mail.I am gathering info for family tree and for other reasons which I will explain when we cantact eachother..Thank you for any help you can give.
