Andree from Netherlands. Freisland area.

My grand father Ralph Cesar Andree was born somewhere in the Netherlands in the 1800's. He immigrated to the USA when he was a boy. My German grandmother wrote down in her unclear English, that he was born in "Vervort???" or something close to that. Supposedly, this was in the Friesland provinces...

Has anyone any idea what she may have meant?

We do not have his immigration papers, or birth records.
He was married to his first wife Tillie Andree until she died,(many children by her ) then he married my grandmother Johanna Pruesse (Witte) who had my father, plus three other kids.
He was a busy man! He died in 1954 at 92.

what is your fathers name? Is it Art? My daughter is doing our family tree and has found a bit and I knew some of Edward Andree's children. We need to check each others info to see what we are each missing.

He was my great grandfather. Died in Norman County, Minnesota. Amanda his daughter bought his farm with her husband Harry Ramstorf. His home still stands. Their son Edward Hein Ramstorf was my father. Many relations live in Minnesota.

I have some information on the Fuerstenberg line. Augusta Mary Amelia Andree married Henry Fuerstenberg Jan 4, 1872 in Berlin is what I have. have not been able to get any info on how they came to America. Could you help?

Hello: Caroline was born in Zechin, Brandenburg, Germany in 1833, I believe her father was Carl August Andree of Zeckhin. When Caroline was 21 she came to America. the next time I found her was in a city Directory in the town of Lawrence, MA. It seemed that maybe she had married a John Andre. Oddly enough her mother had the same name of Caroline Wilhelmine(Kuhl") I have a lot of data on the Andre, Andree, Andrae family of Zechin. The Father was Carl Auust Andre a master pottery maker. Looking for info. and parents' & siblings' names of WILLIAM ANDREE born 1844 Germany who emigrated with parents to Canada 1863 at age 19 (mother died enroute) Married Elizabeth Mahler in Canada & had 8 children. One son was Herman J. Andree.
Wm. also pastored Goshen, IN 1872, Lansing, MI, Defiance, OH, Canal Dover, Vermillion, Marietta, Akron, Pomeroy, and Lawrenceburg, IN.
Believe this Wm. may be brother of my g grandfather Herman Gotlob Andree born 1848 Germany. Their father's name was also William. Some of family went to Wisconsin from Canada in 1864 & my branch to Kansas in 1879.

I believe I contacted you before about Salomon August Andree. I have some info about my relatives who are related to Andree. I have copies of an old newspaper from Texas, telling about the discovery of his camp site, and it has photos of him as a young boy. Also in it is names and photos of my relatives who were his aunt and uncle. Please contact me at "onamarx@hotmail.com "

I also have many pages of info from a genealogist in Sweden who traced my family back to the 1630's. It has proof that my family lived about 25 miles from where Andree lived.

I have some info which may help regarding my Andree Family. My grandfather was a brother of .........
Andree, Adolphus William
(b Jaffna, Ceylon [now Sri Lanka], 26 Sept 1869; d Colombo, 2 July 1910). Ceylonese photographer. His family had practised photography for three generations. His grandfather, Adolphus Wilhelmus Andree (b 1799), was one of the early pioneers of daguerreotypy in Ceylon, and his father, Adolphus William Andree, had a flourishing photographic business between the 1860s and 1880s with studios in the capital Colombo and the provincial towns of Jaffna, Galle and Matara. At 18, he was already working as an apprentice in the studio of an American photographer at Chatham Street, Colombo, using the ferrotype process (see PHOTOGRAPHY, §I). By 1893 he had established the Hopetown Studio, Slave Island, Colombo, which within a decade was one of the most fashionable and best-equipped in the country. Andree earned several awards at the Exposition Universelle, Paris, in 1900 and at the World’s Fair in St Louis, MO, in 1904. In 1901 the government appointed him as one of its official photographers to cover the visit to Ceylon of the Duke and Duchess of York.

They had several childre: Rena?, Jennie (grandmother), Tillie, Sytse, Jacob, and George. They lived in the NW Grand Rapids, Mi. area early 1900s Jennie married Calvin Edward Dart (grandfather) Am looking for any descendents of the other children. Have information for them concerning ancestors in Netherland.

Kathy, Hi cousin! I'm at the library researching my family tree. I have information about Cyrus and Irene Andre. They are my great great grandparents. In addition to Gertrude, they had a daughter named Maggie, who married my great-grandpa, John Goeman. I have other siblings of Maggie and Gertrude, and some "up north" stories. I am writing a book about the Goeman family.

My grandfather was a Nazarene minister in Monongahela, PA untill 1970.
The Andree men have all moved elsewhere.

Maybe it is the same family back in Germany, but I have no information on that.

Mine are from Minnestoa. We have went back to
my Great Great Grandfather Christian Andree.
He was married to Anna Elizabeth Ardnt b 1825.
We think he immigrated from Germany but have
not been able to find anything. They lived near
Ada Minnestoa. Edward my Great Grandfather was
born in 1859. Edward had as many as 15 childern.
We are still working on them. Let me know if any
of this helps.

After looking up the Elsie Andree in my family
tree I discovered that they could not be the
same person. My Elsie Andree was born on 11/11/1905
to the parents of Edward Andree Born 1859 and
Ellen Rasmussen born 1865.

My wife and I have compared the names on your messeage
with what we have. We have many of the name but
it looks like they are the next generation.

Edward Andree Born Oct. 5 1859 has childern that have
some of the same names as the ones on your list. Possibly
they were named after family members.

Edward's father was Christian Andree Born 1818 married to
Edward's mother Anna Elizabeth ardnt.

Edward's sisters were Julia Annie Andree Born 1861 and
Augusta Mary amelia andree and We think there is a
third sister who married a Burkhart.

there maybe others. I will do some more checking to see
if we can connect these people together.

Hi, I am looking for any information on Gertrude Andre and her parents, Cyrus and Irene (Vanderlider) Andre/Andry. Gertrude was born in the Netherlands. She married Curtis L Archer Aug 27, 1898 in Antrim Co. Michigan. They are my gr gr grandparents. They had 4 children: William (my gr grandfather)b. 2/25/1899 m. Iva Bingham, Sadie Archer m. Aldofus Peppin, Robert Archer b. 7/17/1903 m. Francis Irene Sloop, and Hazel Archer b. 1905 d. 4/8/1905.
After Curtis died May 21, 1905, Gertrude married Harry Elzinga on June 19, 1908.
Gertrude died March 30, 1922 at age 41 of tubercolosis.

I also have a Gotleib/Gottleib Andreae, born in Saxony, Germany who came to Louisville, KY in the late 1860's. He has a son Gottlieb, also born in Germany who became a minister and settled in New Jersey. I would like to compare information.

I'm sorry I have no info in the Andree's, but would like info concerning your LEYNE family connection. I am the granddaughter of ELIZABETH AGNES LEYNE, the ggranddaughter of JOHN GERALD LEYNE, and gggranddaughter of RICHARD LEYNE. These have connections with the extensive family of DANIEL O'CONNELL, The LIberator, of Ireland.
