Hello! My parents and older brother and sister came from Belgium in 1955. Until 2 yrs ago we thought we were the only Vandegaers in the US. What a surprise! Do you know anyone from the Vandegaer side who is acting as family geneologist? The last entry I can find is Sarah Anne Vandegaer who passed away in 1998. Thank you very much.

George Andries / Anderson

I have a George Anderson b bef 1755, probably NY. Revolutionary War Soldier Ulster Co. Appears in official records as both Andries and Anderson in 1778. The book Ulster Co in the Revolution shows both names. This appears to be one of those names that transitioned to Anderson. Married a German girl 1778 and eventually moved to SW Pa. Any tips on researching this name in NY would be helpfull.
I know of two brothers, Ray and Henri who married two Bayer sisters. I am connected thru the Bayers. Ray had his first communion in 1897 and I don't know about their parents. Your ancestor Marie may have been an aunt or great-aunt, but I have no info. The Bayers were also from Alsas-Loraine so they probably met thru community interactions. Good luck with your search

I've hit a brick wall with Augustine Anderson b. abt. 1748 (NJ) married Hannah Edsall. He served in the continental army and used his pension to relocated from NJ/NY to Morgan County Ohio.

He had 3 children Joseph, Matilda(m.Weston), Pamelia (married Silvey).

I can't find any info regarding Augustines birth, marriage, christening etc... I have no idea if he had any siblings nor any idea of whom is Parents were. I do have a suspician that he might be Dutch and so posssibly the parents may be Andriesson, Andries or Andrieze.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? He truly can't have just fallen from the sky!!!

You've got one of the tougher names to follow. In the course of 150 the name migrated from Andries to Andriesson to Anderson. In Fact Jochum Andries's son followed the name of Andries Jochemson. Be patient, check your sources and definately give the Mormon site a looksee. (FamilySearch.Org).

I'm looking for information on my grandma Elisabeth Andries and her parents. I know that she married Gerald Blake somewhere around Aug. 8th, 1943. Elisabeth died on Dec. 25, 1979.
