I'm looking for the parents of Nancy Andros b.1807 in Lebanon, New Hampshire d. 4 Oct 1829 in Grafton, NH. md. 1806 to Barney Joseph Mason in Grafton. One known child, Martha Mason b. 1821 in NH d. 1914 in MA. Many on line tree list her parents as John and Grace Andros, both b. 1535. This is obiously wrong. Does anyone know who they really were? Any help appreciated.

First off it was accident that it got on the California message board.
I had been putting something in about my 2 uncles that lived in California that I am looking for Alexander Mather McMeekin.
Ok now to John Andros. He would have been my Mom's uncle.
Yes Thomas & Rose lived down the road from them.
They where not on speaking terms so I never met any of that side of the family.
I don't have access to Ancestry.com yet. Not that I don't want to be just financially why.
Would you please send me the email address.
Thank you Thank you for this information. I want to find out if there are any relatives alive in Italy. Also I want to go into Ellis Island to get that information. I know my uncle Frank did that before he died.
When I was a kid they sent clothing to them.
Rose & Thomas are gone along with all of their children. I am the daughter of their oldest.
Honestly I wish they had talked about the family. But they didn't.
Thanks again.
Rosemary

Hi Rosemary,
I am a research volunteer, not related.
first off.. why did you post this on the California board?
You may get more response by posting on the New York, Dutchess County.

Anyhow... 1920 and 1930 were Thomas and John living on the same street in Hyde Park? If so, John came over before Thomas, possibly mid 1890's. And John had a housefull of children? about 8? Both Thomas and John worked for the railroad.
1910 John is listed as John Andrews (which maybe only what the census taker heard) Thomas and Rose should be in the neighborhood, but the only close thing I found was in Poughkeepsie, Thomas and Rose Matoma. I keep looking for their WWI draft reg, but havn't found anthing that matches very well.

There is a tree on ancestry for John's eldest son, Joseph, b. 4 Feb 1901 NY, says his father's last name was Colaruotolo. it was entered several years ago and has a contact e-mail if you are interested and don't have access to ancestry. i could check it again and pass it along to you off list JBalen1234@aol.com

I am looking for information on John Andros he was the brother of Thomas Andros.

I am Thomas Andros's granddaughter.

I would like to get the name they had when they hit Ellis Island. I know it was changed told by family member but never told name.

I know they came in 1904 together. John 24 yr & Thomas 21 yrs.

I know my Uncle Frank Andros made sure that Thomas's name was at Ellis Island when they opened few yrs ago for people to research family trees.

Would appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you.
Rosemary McMeekin Desjardins
Looking for these headstones. This would be my great grandfather. My great grandmother was to be relocated next to him since she is located very near the cliff to the right side of the drive, we were told they had record, but no one can seem to find a headstone for him. Any info besides the "nominal fee" service provided by the cemetery would be greatly apreciated.

Was her grandfather Rev. Thomas Andros? If so, try a Google search of either Thomas Andros (the Rev. war hero), or Frederick Andros (one of his sons), who was in the Iowa legislature. You should be able to find some stuff about them that way. That family is also in the census (1850-1860 in Garnavillo, Clayton Co., Iowa).

I just read about Edmund Andros the governor of NY in my history book and I remembered that I have an Andros in my family. I came on here to try to find out if I were somehow related. My g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-grandmother (I hope I got the amount of gs right) was Elizabeth Andros. She was born in Hartford, CT, USA in 1639 and died in Windsor, Hartford, CT on January 13th in either 1695 or 96. She married Jacob Gibbs on December 4, 1657 in Windsor, Hartford, CT. They had a daughter Sarah Gibbs who married Samuel Bronson.

I don't know who Elizabeth Andros' parents were or if she had any brothers of sisters. If anyone has information on this I would appreciate it. My e-mail is congressmannorb@yahoo.com and my name is Jonathan, even though it says David on the board (that's my Dad).

I have information on the family of Sir Edmond Andros who was my Husbands ancestor. I would like to share information with you. I have a family tree starting with John Andros, 1543 Gurnsey, in the Channell Islands. He was married to Judith deSaumarez.

This may be of no connection to you but my grandfather Edmond Andros emigrated to Australia in the late 1800's. He came from Guernsey in the Channel Islands. His ancestor also Edmund Andros was the governor of New York in the 1600's, and some members of the family also emigrated to Canada and the U.S.A. in the 1800's so perhaps we could be connected somewhere down the line. Is so it would be great to hear from you.

Andros Family of Cherry Valley, New York

My g-g-g-great grandmother was Permela Louise Andros, born 1820 in Cherry Valley, Ostego, New York. She was the daughter of Russell Andros and Elizabeth Debell. According to "The Kelloggs of the Old and New World," her family suffered in the cherry valley massacre and her grandfather served in the war of the Revolution. I am looking for any information anyone might have. Thanks!

I don't know if I am related to you, probably not, but-- where did your family originate? Ours came from England and we have quite an extensive family history traced. There is an Island in the Bermuda Triangle named after our 'branch' of Andros'. Are you a part of it?
