Is really late better than never? I don’t know.

I saw this inquiry after a search for the German suffix of “horn”.

Doris passed away this last summer 2009.
Doris Mechura was my great aunt who was preceded in death by her sister, my grandmother, Ruth Pulju.

I guess that means I am your husband’s second cousin.
Here is a wonderful story about her by the Faribault Daily News.

http://faribault.com/news.php?viewStory=93689

Here is the last sentence: “Besides her two daughters, Mechura is survived by two sons, Anton Mechura of Farmington and Charles Mechura of Northfield; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ursina Kern of Glendale, Ore.”

The two daughters are: Alice Hopke, and Anna Bluhm of Faribault MN.

S.
Henry, Killian W. and Andrew K. plus a sister Margarette
were siblings (plus Paul who was single). Their father
Killian and mother Ursina. Killian and Ursina immigrated
from Maienfeld Switzerland in 1855 to Honey Creek, Wis.
Killian died in Oct. of 1859 and Andrew K. my grandfather
was born in 1860 - three months after Killian died.
His wife, Ursina, remarried and they all left Wis. for
Steele County Mn. ......My sisters and I went to Switzerland
this past summer and found the family home -- over 400
years old. It was lovely. I was also able to get a copy
of the family tree going back to the 1400's. I hope you
check this site and get back to me.
if

I believe you are inquiring about my family line as most names you mention are included in my family history. My father was Frederick Edward Anhorn, born in Gadsby, Alberta Canada in 1913, his father was Michael Anhorn, born in Alt Postal, Besserabia (Russia) and immigrated to US in 1894. His line goes back to the several Joseph's, etc. Sorry I did not see your inquiry earlier, but hope you will contact me soon.
Darla Anhorn Lee

The father of John Henry that I am looking for is Henry ANHORN who married Amelia YONDA. Henry and Killian were sons of Ursina ANHORN WERSHINGER. Ursina was widowed and I am having a hard time finding out who Henrys father was. If anyone has any information they would like to swap please contact me. Thanks!
