Culpeper, Va. — Francis Howard Ano, 67, of Culpeper, Va., died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at the UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, Va.

He was born in AuSable Forks, N.Y., on Nov. 18, 1934, the son of the late Claude and Viola (Stanley) Ano.

He was retired from the U.S. Army. A loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, he was also a friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the American Legion of AuSable Forks, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Ano, of Culpeper, Va.; six children, Margaret Ano of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Susan Ano of Manchester, Conn., Kathleen Ano of Arlington, Va., David Ano of Fayetteville, N.C., Sharon Ano Blais of Champlain, N.Y., and Emily Ano Castine of Champlain, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Calvin Ano and Connie Ano of AuSable Forks, N.Y., Roger Ano of Manchester, N.H., Norine Starr of Keeseville, N.Y., Barbara Spooner of Keeseville, N.Y., and Linda Depo of AuSable Forks, N.Y.
