Rocco "Rocky" Anobile, 77,
of Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of Hazelwood and Munhall, died Tuesday May 27, 2008,
He was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Pittsburgh and raised in Hazelwood, one of five children in the family of Italian immigrants Anthony and Antonette Anobile.
His father was a member of the staff of Calvary Cemetery, Hazelwood. Mr. Anobile was a veteran of the Korean War who saw action as an Army infantryman from 1948-53 and a retired millwright of General Motors Corp.'s Lordstown, Ohio, assembly plant, where he worked from 1966-93. He was a member of the United Automobile Workers retirees group and the Youngstown chapters of the Korean War Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was the beloved husband fof 54 years of Margaret (McGrogan) Anobile, whom he married April 24, 1954, in St. Agatha Church, now Holy Child Parish, Bridgeville; the loving father of Karen Anobile, of Youngstown, Marilyn Anobile, of the North Side, and Diane (Anobile) Page, of the Columbus, Ohio, suburb of Gahanna, and father-in-law of Bill Page, of Gahanna, and the late Bill Naab, of the North Side (married to Marilyn). He was the proud grandfather of Marisa and Michael Page, of Gahanna, and dear brother of Angela (Anobile) Cortese, of Whitehall. He was predeceased by brothers John and Joseph Anobile and sister Rose (Anobile) Johnson. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in WARCHOL FUNERAL HOME INC., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, 412-221-3333. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Child Parish. Interment in Calvary Cemetery
