I am very glad to hear from you. Altdord is in Baden - Wurttemberg, Germany. My town of Urloffen is also in this area of Germany, so our Anselms do relate if we can trace them back far enough. My problem with my Great Great Grandmother ,Elizabeth Anselm is that her real father W. Anselm died when she was young and while the family was still living in Germany. Her mother Catherine was 33 years old when she remarried to a Francis Doscenbach. My Elizabeth came with Francis Dosenbach and her mother when very young to Perry Co., MO. Elizabeth left home when very young and went to live in St. Louis, MO., and worked as a nanny. Because she was living in St. Louis, and married my Great Great Grandfather there, I can't find many records. I have found no records which name her biological father. In Perry Co., MO there was another Anselm family, the Dominic Anselm family from a town near Urloffen in Baden, Renchen, Baden, Germany. Because I have traced this family back to Renchen, I know that Dominic is not the father of my Elizabeth. He is probably a close relative, but so far I can't connect them.

I would love to receive information on your Anselm family, as I believe it is not a common name. Because both of our families came from Baden, with your information I may find my Elizabeth's biological father. You can e-mail me at Rensing512@aol.com.

1.1 Elizabeth Anselm
—————————————————————————————————————————————
Birth: 5 May 1832, Baden, Germany
Death: 19 Jan 1901, Mascoutah, St. Clair Co., IL
Burial: 21 Jan 1901, Mascoutah City Cemetery, Mascoutah, IL
Occ: Farmer/housewife
Educ: probably some grade school
Reli: Ev. Prot. Church

St. Joseph Catholic church, Apple Creek, MO 1838-1856, pg. 50. Elisabeth Anselm is named as sponsor along with Moritz/Mauritz Hund. The child is Bohnert, Moritz - born 21 Apr 1856 to Caspar and Elisabeth Hust They have two more children Andreas b. 9 Oct 1858, and August b. 19 Feb. 1863 same sponsors. The St. Joseph book uses all maiden names, so doesn't effect this being our Elizabeth because her obit. says she was married 47 yrs. She would not have been single in 1856.

Elizabeth is named as sponsor again for Bonnert, Andreas, born 09 Oct. 1858 to Caspar and Elisabeth Hust. Mauritz Hundt is other sponsor. Named again 19 Feb. 1863 to Bonnert, August same parents and other sponsor Maruritz Hundt. They came to Mascoutah in 1865, so these dates are good dates for Elizabeth to be in Perry Co.

1 Amselm (This is a calulation only)

Catherine was 33 years old when she married Francis Doscenbach, so she must have been a widow (now if we can just fine her married to an Anselm).

Father: Unknown Kirchof or Kirchhofer
Marr: abt 1831, Renchen, Baden (calulation only)

1.1 Francis H. Anselme
—————————————————————————————————————————————
Birth: abt 1830, Baden, Germany

E-mail from Karol, kschweiz@mail.win.org. It is a real long short that this is Elizabeth brother, but I feel in my heart it maybe -- living in St. Louis, and coming from another county in Missouri.

My ggg granfather is Francis H. Anselme. I believe he was born abound 1830. Through the records I have found he came from Baden, Germany or maybe Switzerland. He married Mary McCabe around 1858 & settled in St. Louis. I do know at some point they were in another county in Missouri near Westphalia I believe. Do you know if this is in Perry County?

Spouse: Mary McCabe
Marr: abt 1858, near Westphalia, MO (?)

1.2 Elizabeth Amselm (This is a calulation only)
