I have recently found that along with Carl Anselm were his father Fidel, age 50, a sister Marie, age 19, and a sister Catherine, age 18. They arrived in the Port of New York on November 10, 1851. Carl settled in Philadelphia and became a citizen in 1856 using the name Charles. I have no idea where his father and sisters went. Do the names fit with anyone else's information?
