Hello Fran: I ran into a cousin on the Anselmo side and in was told that my grandfather Giovanni Anselmo had a brother Santo and one sister who remained in Montemaggiore. She became a nun. I was also told that my grandfather was an orphan and was raised in a monestary or convent. I do not have any proof of this story and will continue searching. Perhaps way back then, most of theAnselmos from Montemaggiore were related somehow.

Is there anyone in the family able to tell you anything? Have you been able to come up with any of the Anselmos from my area?
