Hello Larry: I became curious about the connection between Anthes and Antes when I ran across a Monrovian preacher and hymn writer named Philip Antes. Knowing that our family had come from Germany around 1835 and having been told by my dad and granddad from earliest on that our family went back to the Alsace region, I read this post with great interest. Being American we have limited ability to research in Europe, but would dearly love to see Gunter's research and even yours.
