Hello David,

I am trying to trace some descendants of Thomas Ellis, d 1703, who was the brother of Maurice Lewis Anwyl of Parkia. His daughter, Ellen, married Lewis Nanney and had four children. I would be interested to know if there is any record in the book by Huw Anwyl of what happened to the children after their parents died - both by 1701.

I have a copy of the will of Thomas Ellis, in which he mentions the children - Mary, Thomas, Jane and Mark. They are all included in the Glasfryn pedigree but surnames are Ellis or Nanney.

I have also found a record of a Robert Ellis who married Mary Cadwalader. He died in 1729 and is decribed as 'of Glasfryn' but I can't find a record of him in the pedigrees.

My family was said to be Ellis Nanney but is not the one from Gwynfryn. Mark is shown variously as Ellis, Nanney or Ellis Nanney. I have a genetic link to a Nanney family in America, some of whom changed their name to Anway, which may be a misinterpretation of Anwyl.

I would be grateful for any help.

Regards,
David Brown.
