I've been looking for the parents of Leopold's wife, Amelia/Amalia/Amily Schmick. As with Leopold and his family, the Schmicks came from the Volga region of Russia in the 1880s, with many settling in Whitman Co, WA, some in Spokane Co, WA.
I'm researching for a friend who came through Leopold's daughter, Mary Wilhelmina Appel, who married George W. Nelson in Spokane.
All I have on the Leopold comes from the records of his family's arrival in the port of New York in 1888, and WA state birth and census records. If you don't already have some of that information, I'd be glad to email you what I've got.
