I have just recently started researching my family tree on the Applegate side and I have hit a road block.
Here is what I have so far (need to confirm the accuracy):
Jacob Henry Applegate (1746 VA-1819 KY) m. Mary Prudence Wallingford (1758 VA-1850 MO). They had 12 children: James, Benjamin, Jacob, Hannah, Mary, Rachel/Nancy (twins), Nicholas, John, James, Joseph, and Rebecca.
Benjamin Applegate (1774 VA-1862 KY) in 1794 m. Hannah Peters (1774-1829). They had @ 14 children: Mary, Thomas, Sally Ann, Richard, Catherine, Jacob, Samuel, Benjamin, Basil Burris, Margaret, Solomon, James, John, William Walter.
Jacob Applegate (1805-1888 KY) in 1839 m. Amanda Brooks (1813-1890 OH) - Jacob was married 2 times - don't know which one Amanda is or if all children are by her. Jacob had 13 children: Henrietta, Thomas, Benjamin, Mason, Horace, Alexander, Evaline/Madeline (twins), Lucy A, Susan, Albert/Alvin (twins), and Sylvester.
Benjamin Applegate (1841-1930 KY) m. Martha (? - Blanton?). They had 9 children: Alexnora,Paris, Walter Scott, Gertitude, Adolphus, Oliver, Louvina, Ella/Nellie (twins).
Paris Benjamin Applegate (1867-1958 Lewis Co, KY) in 1891 m. Phoebe Ellen Sexton (1872 VA-1948 KY). Phoebe is rumored to have been orphaned (along with her brother John) as young children. They were raised by their Gfather(?) Allen Stacy. She moved in with Benjamin's family as caretaker of their children around the age of 14 or 15. Paris and Phoebe had 9 children: Jesse James, Della, Harly L, Arlie T, Ephram, Mable, Harry, Glen, and Tolliver.
Ephram "Eaf" Applegate (my gfather) m. a Margie Reis in 1926, but had 1 child - David "Buck" Applegate (my father) with LaVada Howell Grayson and 2 children - Leoma and Williard Applegate with Hazel Grayson.
I can't find any information past Jacob Henry and I haven't been able to find anything more on my ggmother, Phoebe Sexton.
I would also like to find some up to date info on the Applegate family web-site. Every link I've found is a dead end.
If you have anything at all that would help, please contact me through my email: email@example.com
. Be sure to put Applegate family in the subject line.
Thank you for reading, I know it's a lengthy message.
