Maximiliano Arana from La Paz, Bolivia

His Wife's name was Carmen.

He probably was born about 1915.

I have very little information.
I know they had a son, Albert Carlos Arana and a Daughter also Carmen.

Carmen (his wife) lived in Chicago in 1978 but I do not think Max came to USA and may have died in Bolivia.

Thanks for sending me a message and for the photo of your great grandfather Domingo Arana Marquez, who was an uncle to my grandfather Juan Cornelio Arana Arana. My mother was Amelia del Carmen Arana Arana Arana Colmenero. One of her grandmothers was Maria Saturnina Arana Marquez who was married to Juan Felipe Arana Silen. My mother's grandfather on her mother's side was Antonio Evangelista Arana Marquez who was married to Severiana Colmenero Quijano. As you can see, Maria Saturnina, Antonio Evangelista and Domingo Arana Marquez were brothers and sister. Their parents were Antonio Severo Arana Ferrer born in Aguadilla and Francisca Marquez Paulet born in Cabo Rojo. Antonio Severo and Juan Cornelio Arana Ferrer were the sons of Juan Gabriel Arana Mairene from Cadiz in Spain and Maria de los Dolores Ferrer Sotomayor from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

im living in the US
but my family is from El Salvador
according to my dad the ancestry of my family comes
from Brazil where Martha& Pedro founded
a University after the name arana
they moved to el salvador and started an ongoing generation.
i have Alot of my family with the last name arana

I'm from Portugal, but I have Arana in the middle of my name, my grandfather tell me that my family came from Peru, my great-grandmother emigrated to Portugal. I don't know if we have same origin.

If your grandfather was Arturo ARANA Román born 1-10-1906, died 1-1995, married to Juana GONZÁLEZ Bouillerce and the father of José Enrique, Manuel, Arturo, Annie, Liduvina, Oscar R., Myrna Ivette, and María Milagros then he was the cousin of my grandmother, Celia Margarita ARANA Roig from Lares. They were 1st cousins on one side and 3rd cousins on another side due to cousin marriages.
If this is your family, whose child are you? I do not have information on his children nor grandchildren.
I live in Mount Pleasant, SC across the river from Charleston.

Arana is the spanish name for spider. It is a name that comes from the Basque area of Spain. My grandfather William Anselmo Arana was born in Doyle Colony, Santa Cruz, California. His forebearers are supposed to have come from Spain in to Mexico and then up to the Santa Cruz, California area. At the time of his family arriving in the Santa Cruz area the town of Santa Cruz was named Branciforte.

In the 1980's the President of Guatemala was Arana. In 2002 and 2003 three persons Arana wrote messages on this ARANA page asking for information about the Arana families in Guatemala. I have heard of that but, i am not sure. My dad doesn't know much about his aunts of anything , The only one that could help for sure is my dad's older sister she always talks about it but i am pretty sure i have heard of itBelieve me iam curious too iam tired of people thinking iam one ethnicity to another. hmm i'll look into it.

Well my grandmothers name is Maria Ester Arana was born in 1920 in El Salvador,San Salvador little pueblo tiquizalla she grew up there she pasted away unfortuanetly 3 years ago from Alzaheimers . I am looking for my other family members . My father and his sisters dont really much remmember anything??.

Hi, my name is Luis Alvarez. But my real name should be Luis Arana. I am the Grandson of Luis Alvarez Arana.
My grandfather was an Illegitimate son of Virgilio Arana ( I think). My grandfather grew up with his uncle from his mother side, Cecilio Alvarez. My grandfather lived all his life in Utuado P.R. until his death in 1975. He was known as Luis Alvarez Arana instead of Luis Arana Alvarez. He was born in 1898. If you have info. Obituary: Amanda Arana Nogales

NOGALES, Amanda A., 96, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, October 13, 2006. She was born June 4, 1910, in La Luz, New Mexico, to Cristobal and Delisia Arana, one of eight children. She married Gregory Nogales in 1926 and moved to Douglas, AZ. She raised five children, Ernest (Phyllis), Stella Fortier, Molly (Joseph) Rodriguez, Robert (Margie) and the late Gregory (Carol). A well-known chef in the area, she had her own restaurant and headed the kitchen staff at the Gadsden Hotel before moving to Tucson in 1979. Amanda was called Mom by many young people who needed a helping hand. It was not unusual to find a new face at the kitchen table or asleep on the living room couch. Her door and heart were always open. She was a remarkable woman of great strength and faith. In addition to her children, she is survived by 16 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, grandson, Joseph II and son-in-law, Robert Fortier. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2006 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Desert. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
