What a bunch of bananas the Arber family are. The most favourite names in the large families are similar....Ken,Joe, Patrick,Damian,Maurice,Robin,Maureen,Eilane,Susan then the offspring with Paul,Simon,Susan,Phillip,Richard etc.
I'm sorry I've yet to hear about a John in this part of the bunch, as we are all rejected decendants of products from Maurice Charles Arber, who I do believe is buried in Hydrabad or somewhere nearby. May he rest in peace, the old man eating tiger hunter.

Interesting reading the Arber family history in India. My grandfather with the same name was there until around about 1943, until he died from cancer.
MAURICE CHARLES ARBER was a rail line surveyor in India from at least 1927 onwards until 1943, then after independance the family were kicked out in effect. Tracking the family history in India, then back tracking prior to 1927 is almost mission impossible.

Walter Arber

Hello fellow Arber researchers! I am wondering if anyone has ever come across any information about my great-grandfather Walter Arber. He lived in Teddington, Middlesex and I believe he was a gardener. Im afraid I dont have his DOB or death as yet, but Ive really only just started investigating this. My father, David Arber, got me interested in this and so I thought I would use my advantage being over here in the UK to do a more in depth search.

We know that at some point the family migrated to Australia, I am not sure if Walter married in UK or Australia but he married Gertrude and had 3 chilldren; John, George Ernest and Mary. George Ernest ended up in Australia but I believe the others stayed in the UK.

ANY information or advice on how to get searcing would be much appreciated.

N xx

Hi Kenneth, I think that I have heard from your father and passed on a little information about your own ancestor. My father was Harold William Arber, 1902-1954 London. But in 1946 he was photographed in an American Red Cross Field Directors uniform. I was put out for adoption and never knew him. So most of his life is a mystery to me. If you want to contact me my e-mail no. is dnastell@lineone.net.
