I have spent several year researching the Arbogast history. Recently I have found a document that ties the early Arbogast in Virginia to the Arbogast in Pennsylvania. Hans and Michael arrived in America Sept 25, 1749 aboard the "Speedwell".
Their brother Johannes arrived two years later 1751. Their parents were Daniel and Christina Arbogast of Cologne, Germany.
The Virginia (West Virigina) branch did have several fighting in the Revolution. Adam, son of Michael and several of his sons were at the surrender at Yorktown. Our family history covers most the history of America.
Because of the split between Pa and Va in the Civil War, the Pa branch had 9 Arbogast in Union uniform and 4 Va Arbogast in Confederate uniforms at Gettysburg.
I also had heard of this book, but have never had any other information on it. I would be very interested in any information that you have on this book about Arbogast.
