My name is Cervera Matejka. I am writing you in response to your post about trying to find your half-sister and family. My father's name was Thomas DeForrest Arbuckle. He married my mother, Cervera Sue Griffis in Aug 1969 in Dade County Florida. My mother was 17 when they got married and my father was around 23 or so. (I am not sure of his exact age) They got divorced on 3 March 1970 while she was pregnant with me.
She got remarried to Robert Michael Gifford on 14 March 1970. I was born 30 May 1970. My mother was then killed on 24 Dec 1970 by Robert Gifford. My maternal grandmother (Nellie Phillips-Griffis-Schaufele) took me in and in 1975 she and my step-grandfather (Harry Schaufele Sr) adopted me. My name changed from Jean Marie Arbuckle-Gifford to Cervera Jean Schaufele.
My father, Thomas Arbuckle, gave me up to give me a better life he said. The last time I saw him was right before I was adopted when I was 4. He thought that it was best that he not see me after that. Because I was so young, I have no memories of my father. I have been trying to find him since I was 17, without any success. My grandmother/adopted mother did tell me once, when I was 15, that I had a half-sister and that she thought her name was Kimberly. I don't know if we are the people that we are both trying to find or not. Please let me know.
