I'm looking for any information that any of you Arceneaux's may have to help me in my search for information on my grandfather great-grandfather. My grandfather's name was Joseph Lawrence Arceneaux. He was born in 1905 or 1906. His siblings were Antoine, Preston, Dudley, Amanda, Ida, Anita, Annie, Laura, Onezia, and Rose. Their father's name was Arthur Arceneaux and he married Rose (last name unknown). Arthur also had a brother named Alphonse. Arthur's father was Peter Arceneaux and his wife was Olga, believed to be a Cherokee Indian nicknamed Meniere. Peter's siblings were Archie, Alphonse,Clay, Ben, Demouche (not certain on spelling) and a sister Thren (not certain of spelling). My grandfather's last living sibling Onezia passed away in 06/2000.
