Hi, I just saw your post. It took me awhile!
I remember my dad, james archambeau, son of Bill and Nellie, my mom, dorothy, my sister, Mary Lou and I visiting George's family near Pontiac, MI. There was Debbie, Daphne, Delores, Johnny, and another daughter who came later, I think. Are you one of the kids? We went swimming and had fun. What are you doing now? We have a family reunion on the second Sunday of August. This year it is at my house near Jerome, MI. It is South of Jackson. Let me know if you get this. Thanks, Janie
Also I can remember Uncle Al visiting and also Uncle Gus and Louise. I remember my mother talking about Uncle Arnie but I don't remember him.

I am not related, but I am doing some research for a friend, and one of her lines ties into the ARCHAMBO family from the village of Phoenix, Town of Schroeppel, Oswego County, NY. I am trying to identify the husband of Elizabeth R. ( ) Archambo - 1855-1938. She is buried in the Archambo family lot in Phoenix Rural Cemetery.

Thank you for your response regarding Archambo(eau) native american connection. Was your grd mtr or Auguste native american? I am finding that the Archambo(eau)'s migrated to America via Canada (my own grandfather lived in Quebec, came down to Houghton Twp. UP-Michigan, then down to Detroit). Did your grandfather, or possibly his father come thru Missouri - Utah then Oregon?

Questions - native american heritage

I'm curious. Have you found anything about your native american heritage yet? I've been doing a little research on Auguste Archambeau, a mountain man who had a 'trade' business with Ute Indian tribes... Have you been able to deteremine any link to him?

Arne ARCHAMBO (1911-1969) m1. Iva

We are Archambo's living in California. My husbands father had told him a sroty about the original spelling being Archambeau and one of his grandfathers changing the spelling to bo, because of living in an Italian neighborhood that is prejudice against the French, so he wanted the name to appear more Italian. We know our Archambo's are French and come from Canada. My husbands grandfathers name was Arne Archambo, born Dec 13, 1911 and Died March 1969. Arne had one child with Iva, named Robert Archambo, then they divorced. Arne remarried and had other children, but we don't know much about them. Robert Archambo is the father of my husband Jon Archambo. Does any of this sound familiar, and or any connections, please help, thanks Della

Alfred Archambo m.bef.1891 Almire Duval ~ NY

I am also looking for the Archambault's/Archambo's in the Clinton County/ Plattsburgh N.Y area. My grandmother was Grace Eliza Archambault, born Feb. 12, 1891. I ordered her birth certificate and found that her parents were Alfred Archambault and Elmire Duval. I was able to find the Duval family, but was never able to find Alfred. He was 35 at the time of Grace's birth. Which would make his birth about 1856. It does state he was also born in Plattsburgh. I learned that his Surname could have been spelled several different ways so I did find a Alfred Archambo in Plattsburg census (1860) who would fit the info. on my Alfred. He was 5 at the time. It lists his father as Louis Archambo, age 30, Carpenter, born in Canada, mother Sophia, age 28, born in Canada, Arthur, age 7, Alfred, age 5, Fredrick, age 3, and Legette, age 6 months. The thing is on Grace's birth certificate it also lists Alfred as being a Carpenter by trade. If you think you may have a connection, please email at bwillma1@tampabay.rr.com. By the way I believe that most if not all of the Archambaults in the Plattsburg area are somehow related. As I notice the children in each family have some of the same names repeated.
Terri
