BENJAMIN WAS BORN ALSO IN QUEEN CAMEL IN 1842 AND MARRIED ELIZABETH FARTHING IN 1866- THEN MOVED TO EBBW VALE AND MERTHYR TYDFIL- HE APPEARS ON CENSUSES UP UNTIL 1881.
ELIZABETH MARRIED GEORGE PAUL AND APPEARS ON 1901 CENSUS HAVING HAD FURTHER CHILDREN BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO PINPONT WHEN BENJAIN DIED.
I'MWONDERING WHETHER HE MAY HAVE SEPARATED FROM ELIZABETH AND RETURNED TO SOMERSET AREA BETWEEN 1881-1901..
ANY INFORMATION OTHERS MAY HAVE WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL.

I am researching my family tree.
Looking for any information on my Great- Grandfather James who I believe was born in Merthyr tydfil about 1874-5.
He married MABEL HANNAH DAVIES in 1902 and my Grandfather William was born 9th July 1906.
Have tried census but there are just too many James Thomas's !!
I believe he later lived in Bargoed ( Groesfaen)
Any help would be great.

I turned 40 in March, and it is funny how you end up back where you started. I moved to Maryland and then got really interested in the Archibald surname genealogy. I knew that my family came from Haverhill, Mass. I learned that they to Haverhill from Poland, Maine. I then learned that most likely my link is to the Archies that stayed behind in NH coming from the first group that originated in Londonderry, NH. Back in my high school days, I actually used to run through the cemetery where the Archibald's are buried in East Derry. And now I'm moving back to New Hampshire in a few weeks...I can't WAIT!! Summer is here and I'll be going to Londonderry, Poland, Haverhill and anywhere else my line takes me. Just rambling....Hope all is well with you and yours. Have a great summer- Pete

I have started to dig deeper into my GGGrandmothers family the Archibalds from Vaughan Ontario Canada. Would be interested in hearing from any of the following family lines.
John Archibald B 1826 in Vaughan Ontario d 13 June 1876 in Georgina, married on the 12 Jan 1847 in York County to (Emiline) Caroline Rhyndress b 1826 and died Feb 1872 in York County. They had the following children all born in York county Ontario.

Peter 1849-1871
Samuel Archibald 1848-1902 when he died in Midland after marrying Mary West.
Margaret Jane b 1856 and married George Keef
Cecelia Frances b 1857 and died 1934 who married Henry Allan Sager.

Josephine Archibald b 1865 who married William Johnston and lived in Elmvale Ontario
James Walter Archibald b 1866 and married Amelia McKinnon
Maria Archibald b 1870 and who may have married a Trudeau.

With a 5 year old child, Abraham Archibald, Jr. b. 1843 d. 2-6-1907 Butler County, PA. married Elmira Singer she was b. 1845 Jackson Twp, Pa and d. aft. 1900 ? Pa.
Abraham Archibald, Jr. later changed the spelling to ARCHABALD. Abraham and Elmira had 3 sons and a daughter, one son went west and never heard of again. The only child I have been able to trace is that of Charles Wilson Archabald, Sen. b. October 29, 1877 Butler County, Wilkes Barre, Penn. d. September 30, 1966 Franklin County, Westerville, Ohio. Who married Wave Delavan b.September 06, 1896 Lackawanna County, Scranton, Penn and d.March 04, 1974 Franklin County, Westerville, Ohio.
Having 2 children. Jean Romane (Archabald) Wolf 1918-1992 and Charles Wilson Archabald, Jr. b 1921 in Ohio. married to Marjory Morrow. b. 1922 Ohio.

I am trying to find out information on Henry "Harry" Alexander Archibald, born Dec. 19, 1885 Port Hastings, Nova Scotia. He was the son of Henry Alexander and Florence (Matheson) Archibald. He married Edna (surname unknown). He supposedly died in Bronx, New York about 1950. Henry and Edna had Marjorie, Christine, and Robert. If anyone can tell me anything about this family. I have not tried any New York source as I do not live in the area. I have exhausted ALL NOVA SCOTIA sources (i.e. census, cemeteries, churches, etc.).

I am a descendant of the John Archibald who was born in Northern Ireland in 1691 and later married Margaret Wilson, subsequently emigrating to Londonderry, New Hampshire. I have my whole line mapped all the way down to where I fall in place, however, I would like to know if anyone has any information on John Archibald (ie: his father/mother/etc...)?

Also, I don't know if it has been posted here or not but the following website has soem good information concerning the Archibalds who emigrated to New Hampshire then on to Nova Scotia.

Robert was born May 23, 1925 in California. His mother is Lillian Elizabeth Strope. I do not know any information on Robert's father. I do have some information on his Grandparents, Nathaniel Mervin Strope and Eynous (Inez) Halla Aurella Stockmeyer.

My father, Thomas Archibald, was born in Burntisland Fife in 1897. He had a varied life including time in, I think, St Louis Missouri, the British Merchant Marine and the Australian Army. He died in Sydney Australia in June 1950.

In 1960 they relocated to St. Paul, MN. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Daphne, Cynthia and Virginia, and her husband. She is survived by daughters, Ann (Carl)Anton, Woolich, ME, and Janet (Carleton)Fish of Plymouth, MN., son James K (Joanne) Archibald, Cockeysville, MD; brother Edward N (Rita) Kenway, southwest Harbor, ME, grand and great grand children.

I am looking for information on Percy Archibald. He was born in 1867 in Truro NS, i found him on the 1870 census in Michigan and 1881 in Essex ON. The next thing I know is he is married in GA in 1896.

I'm looking for info on the son of John and Caroline Archibald. He was James Walter Archibald b 1866 to married Amelia S McKinnon in Sutton Ontario in 1889.
They had 2 children Marella b 1893 and Douglas Grant Archibald b 1896 in Georgina Twsp. In the 1901 Census the family was in Muskoka-Parry Sound district and James was a farmer.

My gggg grandparents were John ARCHIBALD and Margaret McKENZIE. Their son, John (b abt 1816 possibly Inveresk or Prestonpans) married Elisabeth FERGUSSON (b abt 1815 Tranent) in Prestonpans 7 Sept 1834. John and Elisabeth had four children, including my gg grandfather, Adam who was b 1837, d 1868 and married Janet FRASER 8 June 1860 in Edinburgh.

Of the Archibald's that moved to NS--Can someone give me the names and DOB for each? That should leave some brothers that stayed behind--possibly because they were too young or for some other reason? Does anyone have these names? Did they all stay and die in Londonderry? Alexander Archibald was hanged for being involved in the death of Patrick Halligan, in the infamous Morinish Murder near Rockhampton QLD in 1868. Alexander was the owner of a well known race horse named "Quart Pot". He had been in the Lions Creek Hotel for a few months before conspiring to rob a gold courier. In the account I read there is no age given for Alexander. It did say he was born in Scotland and had been in both New Zealand and Victoria before coming to Qld. He had a wife and children. He married (date unknown) Margaret Pringle (born about 1820), and they had at least three children: Robert (1843-1849), Rachel (1851), and Annie (1853), all born in England. He is listed as a tailor at 15 Dartmouth St. Westminster, London, on Rachel's birth certifcate. Charles, Margaret, and the girls are shown in the US 1870 census as living in Ipswich, Massachusettes. It appears that Tom aged 15 died aboard ship. in (I think) 1908. I took a picture of the stone which was in a graveyard in Chile and will happily send it to anyone who is interested.

Reginald's parents were Harry Reid and Catherine VanKoughnett. Both died in Parry Sound, ON Harry is buried in Hillcrest Cemetary and Catherine is buried in Foley.

Harry was a WWII vet.

He was a member of the Irish Jasper Greene's in Savannah, Ga. Enlisted in 1st Regiment Gerogia Volunteers May 30, 1861, married Martha Bell in Savannah, June 21, 1861. Fought and was wounded for four years for the confederacy. Had one daughter Annie Bell Archibald born in Nov. 1870 in Savannah. Annie Bell was my wife's grandmother. William Archibald is my ggg grandfather. He was a weaver in a place called Slunk in Scotland. The spelling of Slunk is fairly certain - as it appears on a photocopy of an extract of Banns and Baptisms from the GRO in Edinburgh. However, with old handwriting it is possible to misread some letters. I have not had any luck in locating this place yet but believe it is in the general vicinity of Edinburgh. William married Marion Muir and had a son, Mathew Archibald who was a shoemaker in Riccarton, Scotland. Mathew married Catharine Boyd and had 6 children: William, Janet, Marion, James, Catherine and Margaret. This entire family immigrated to the USA c1857-1864 and lived in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. Catherine married Henry Burton. They are my greats.

Phebe was born 3-22-1801, married to Robert Agin, lived in Fayette Co, Pa in 1830's, moved to Washington Co, Ohio and later to Linn Co, Mo. where she died 12-20-1886. We do not have any info on Phebe but we do have a picture taken in 1870's. As Thomas A. Archbold's wife was named Phebe I am trying to determine if they had a daughter named Phebe. Any help will be appreciated.
