I am researching farmers in St. Louis, and am interested in more information about the Levi Ashley family. I cannot find the family in the 1870 population census, but I have found many deeds, mortgages and even a power of attorney in St. Louis County. And I have found members of the family in the 1860, 1880, 1900, 1910 census, etc.
If anyone have information about the family and their farming activities in St. Louis County, I would be most appreciative. The 1880 agriculture census indicates that they owned 40 acres of pasture and 5 acres of woodland, valued at $2000. He and his family produced corn, oats, potatoes (Irish and sweet), cattle, hogs, and some income from market gardening.

We were in Knox and Butler from PA and Lucinda came frome our family abt 1770. The Holden's, Elliott's, And Little's used it too. We were all closely related. Are you sure Riblet isn't Reily? They we related to the Little's. The names Henry, william, John, Elizabeth are family name's too. The name came from a wife that we don't know her name. She brought in the names Lucinda and Melinda. My first known Lucinda was b. 1802 in Butler, but her mother might have had the same name. She was French-Canadian. Hope that helped my email is fleetwood3@netzero.com Steven Michael Holden

Hi-
I am currently living on a piece of property in St. Louis, MO that I believe was owned by a Levi Ashley. This Levi was born
around 1816 and the census records show him from Mass. His wife is Susan and was born in MO according to the 1860 census. They are both buried in the Oak Hill Cemetary near my home. If you have access to 1860 MO census records he and wife Susan had four living children. George age 7, also buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Edward(??) age 5, Mary age 3,
and baby, no name listed. I have more info if this happens to be your Levi Ashley!

Alphonse Jacob Arehart

The FATHER of Alphonse Jacob Arehart was August HERMAN Arehart. August Herman Arehart was born in 1870 in Southern Indiana. He died in July or August of 1954, was buried in Louisville, KY (I was one of his pallbearers) and Al Arehart was my father.
August (Gus) Arehart married Rose Boeglin and they had four sons: Norbin (Norbert), Alphonse, Louis, and Oscar.
I belive August had several brothers, but I only knew Frank.
Rose Boeglin had several sisters of which I knew Theresa (Tracy) and Caroline (Cary). Cary was married to Frank Arehart and they had two children, a boy and a girl.
Tracy married Albert Temple and they also had two children, a boy and a girl. They lived on either side of us for several years during the 2nd World War.

I have 2 different Henry's in my family tree. The 1st is Henry Earhart son of Catherine Peter Earhart in the early 1700. The 2nd is Henry Erehard born in the late 1700s or early 1800s, married Elizabeth Storutemire, son of Georg Alice Ereheat. The 2nd is the grandson or great grandson of Peter Anna Maria Hube. This was his 1st wife in Germany I believe. My info is from someone els so, some dates aren't there. If this sounds like your family I'd love to talk.

There are both spellings in my line. There are a couple of families that have both spellings in them. But most of the lines in the 1900's don't change from thier parents. So lets say in the 1800's. When it was recorded by word of mouth or by the way it sounds. If you have family in VA please lets talk. My e-mail is jwg66@prodigy.net. looking forward to hearing from you soon. barbara garrett
