Hello Sharon

I hope it's OK contacting you this way..

I may be linked to the Losty family of Co Kildare. My third great grandmother, Mary Losty, was born circa 1800 and lived in Fairmount near Clane.

I am unable to make contact via the Losty website: the email address seems to be non-active as my messages bounce.

Could you please contact me regarding this on power.mike@bigpond.com

Mike Power
Hi Joan,

It's great to hear from you! I would love for you to send more information about the family. After our great grandfather died I think much of the family history was lost. My email is bbender7602@gmail.com. I know my brother Bob had some things that I think came from you. But definitely send it along. By the way, not sure if you heard but Auntie Babe died last week, 6/30. They is only going to be a graveside service for her on Friday. I've let your sister know.

I'm looking forward to hearing back from you!

Betsy
Hi Sharon,

My name is Betsy Benoit Bender. My father was Roger Benoit (his first name was actually Arthur - Roger was his middle name but everyone called him Roger). Your mom is my cousin. My mother's name is Ceceile M Fontaine Benoit. I had 3 brothers - William Arthur Benoit, Robert Roger Benoit and Bernard Henry Benoit. My brother Bill passed away on 5/6/02. My name is actually Elizabeth Marie. All of my brothers married and have children. I was married to Michael Brian Bender but he passed away in 2007. I'd love to know more of our family tree and ancestry since so much was lost when my grandfather died. It would be great to be in touch directly sometime. Look forward to hearing from you.

Betsy
My family is from CT though my parents were born in Canada - Sherbrooke [Windsor] & St. Jean de la Lande of Quebec. My father Michael Arel is a licensed minister. Not sure what you are looking for but I know my dad has books of his geneology. Theres a lot of info about our last name if you are interested. Here's one piece of info: Arel is not our original last name. It was actually Ha-rele. They suspect its anglo-saxon and is of Viking descent. Cool huh? ;)

I have an ancestor named Michael Airel (both spellings could have been Americanized). I was told he was French Canadian. He married Rosetta Carr, born in Utica, NY and by Feb. 1859 they had a son, Clifford B. Airel in Alabany, NY. I'm assuming that Michael was born in the 1830's. Do you think there's a connection to Louis Arel?

Hi Marilyn,
I'm not going to be much help I'm afraid...there
are entries for Jean Baptiste Arel but they aren't
what I had hoped.
There are 3 mentioned, one in 1891 in Quebec City, a grocer;
2 in 1861, one in Deguir (District of Trois Rivieres) and one
in Bourgmarie (Est).
That doesn't seem to be very helpful...sorry.
BA

Hi Joan I only know of Ovide's 3 other brothers. I am sure there were mmore but have not been able to find. I have a 1881 census that says { hard to read} Jean Baptiste Arel, Homere{sp} Isrial, and Ovide. Ovide was my grandfather he married a Leda Gingras. According to his children Ovide was born in St David Yamaska, Canada. Ovide's parents were Jean Baptiste Arel and Luce Millett or Magnette. Ovide was born 1867. Any help?? Marilyn Dye
