I could not find the Messancy Histori site. Can you send me a link to it? My AREN(X) came from Olm, Luxembourg to St. Donatus, IA in 1847. I do not have your Henri or Mary in my file. I would like to add them and their descendants. If you like I will send you a gedcom of my AREN(X). And, in return, I would appreciate a gedcom of your AREN(X). Within Luxembourg I have found AREN(X) from many areas; Mersch, Angelsberg, Hollerich, Luxembourg City; mostly in the south half of Luxembourg. As far as the spelling goes, I have found within the very same document of my known ancestors the surname spelled three different ways. Perhaps the worst is ARRANS. The most common misspellings are AHRENS and ARNES.
