She published a book--My Life With the Enemy--in 1944. Lots of autobiographical information there. While she WAS Canadian, born in Brandon, Manitoba, she left Canada at the age of 5, and although she attended Victoria College, U of T, that those 8 years (1909-1913, 1927-1930) were the only time sh was in Canada. She lived mainly in Japan until 1942, and married and died in the USA after that. CBK Argall was actually her uncle; her mother died in 1913, and her father appears to have died in WWI. She called her aunt and uncle--missionaries in Japan--her "parents," which they functionally became.
