My grandmother (Mary Arigo) brothers were JIMMY AND LEON. Just thought you might want the correct spelling. Leon died at age 16 and Jimmy passed away earlier this year 2006 I believe. He lived in California and was a 1/2 brother to my grandmother. Leon was a full brother and we think he was born in Tulsa, OK but no records have been found. Would like to find his birth certificate to get more information on Sam Arigo (father).

Edith is my great grandmother. She and Sam Arigo had my grandmother Mary June Arigo in Harlan, KY in 1925. He died when my grandmother was 13 months old in an coal mining accident in Henryetta,OK. He was from Italy. He was also a cook in WWI and I found out he was in the hospital in Carthage,MO from his health records. No other military records found nor naturalization records, passenger ship records, census records. I would love any information on him!

But my cousin just gave me info.
My Grandmother was adopted by Anna & Santo Arrigo
from Termini Imersi before that she was raised in a convent till around the age of 10/11. She was adopted and not to long after that came to America.
she was born march 1887 she married 1901
her Adopted Father died not to long after they came to America... her mother made a promise to marry her (she was worried that if she passed away she would be here alone.) Not that this gives me much more to go on, If someone has some info, thanks I would appreciate it.
Louise

Question for you on ARRIGO. Are you sure it is spelled that way? The reason being, that my Grandmother's Maiden name is Arigo and her father had several sisters. But, I am not sure if they came to America? Tell me what you know about the family and maybe I have answers for you! The Arigos are from Sicily, near Messina.

Hi. My name is Nancy Lewis. I am the daughter of Lucien and Catherine Arigo. I am trying to research my family history. Anyone who has any information on the family of John and Mary Arigo of N.J. please let me know. They passed away back in 1980 and 1981. I can only bring up their SSI Death certificate information. I would like to know who their parents were and so on. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Nancy (Arigo) Lewis

Dear Mrs. Mancuso,
I am sorry it has taken me so long to write you back. I have been trying to find out some information. I found out the my grandfather was born in Italy. I have heard stories all my life about him dropping an R from his name when he came over. I also heard that he was born in Sicily. I am not sure if that is where he was born that is just what I heard. I know that he died in or around 1982. He lived in that Bronx, NY for many years until him and my grandmother moved to NJ. My grandmother was born here in the U.S. His name is John Arigo. I hope some of this helps. If you need to know anything else that would help you Please do not hesitate to write me and ask. I will write my father and ask him. Thank-you for your patience. Nancy Lewis

I found some more information. I looked under WWI civilian registration (or something like that) anyway it had my grandfathers name listed as John Arrigo. It had his birth as Bolognetta Palmero, Italy. It had him registered in NYC (manhattan #96) It also had Giuseppe Arrigo a citizen of Italy, born Oct. 14, 1880, registered in NYC (manhattan #96), as well as a Tony Arrigo, citizen of Italy, born Feb. 12, 1884, registered in NYC (manhattan #96). Could that mean all three of them are related? Could that be the Tony you were talking about earlier? Anyway. Maybe some of this will help. Let me know something I am sitting ont he edge of my seat. I looked under the surname of Arrigo and found all this. . . . Nancy

Karen lives in Anderson, is married and has a boy and a girl. Daddy still lives in Anderson. Mama passed away two years ago. That leaves me. I am married (for the second time) with four kids. The first one I gave up for addoption at two and a half months old. I get pictures of him and am in touch with his addopted mother all the time. The other three are with me. They are two girls and a boy. In that order. I am happy. Me and Donna don't talk anymore. LONG STORY. . . . . Send me your e-mail address and I will e-mail you directly. Love ya, Nancy
