Hello Noah,

I just "googled" my name and your message board appeared. I once heard that all of the Arispe's are related, not true of the name Arizpe. I married Florentino "Tino" Arispe on May 21, 1983 in Alexandria, VA, and we had three beautiful children together" Rhonda Leigh Arispe (b. 1984), Ramon Florentino Arispe (b. 1985), and Anthony Scott Arispe (b. 1986). Our kids are of course grown now, and all are serving our country overseas. None of them are married or have children yet, although Ramon is returning to the states in a few weeks and may soon marry a young lady named Aimee, whom I have yet to meet.

Tino's mother, Lily, sadly to say, died around Thanksgiving, 1984, but his father, Ramon Cordova Arispe, is 80 years old & lives in southern California. His parents were Victor and Petra Arispe, and they were born, raised, and married in New Mexico in the early 20th century I believe. They lived long and had six children: Daniel, Ramon, Maggie (nee Margarita?), Victoria, Emily, and Cruz. Daniel passed on a few years ago, but he had a daughter, Peggy, and a son, David. He may have had another daughter, but I never met her. David is a good 25 years younger than Peggy or more, so he is still young yet, but other than him & my boys, I don't believe the Arispe name has further descended.

I guess there's a northern town named Arispe. I believe it is in Iowa (or is it Ohio?), so I think it was founded by someone of the same last name.

That is all I know so far, but Tino & my children and I would be very interested to hear from you about your roots.

My great-grandmother was Alvina Arispe Galindo (b. 11 Feb 1877 in TX, d. 24 May 1961 in Stockton, CA) and her sister was Estefana Arispe Hidalgo (b. 02 Sep 1872 in TX, d. 03 Mar 1952 in Stockton, CA)

Alvina was married to Tanislado Galindo. They lived Del Rio, TX and had 7 sons (Crisoforo, Esau, David, Enrique, Julian, Juan & Ignacio) and 1 daughter (Elvira) who was my grandmother.

Here is what I have on my Arispe side, not sure if we are related, but there is a Delfina on my side.
Francisco Arispe (bn 1882) married Delfina Castaneda bn 1886, (my great great grandmnother). Delfina's parents names were: Bartolo Castaneda & Gertrudes Flores, Delfina's siblings were:Demetrio, Aquilina, and a sister whose nickname was "Mencha", not sure of her real first name. Also, there is rumor that the CASTANEDA's had Apache blood--I haven't found proof of this just family rumor.
Their children were: Gustavo arispe, Gertrudes Arispe, Lydia Arispe, Rodolfo
Arispe, Ernesto Arispe & Diamantina (Chita) Arispe.
I know that they lived in Gonzales, Tx, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, may have lived in El Paso and also lived in Uvalde, Tx. FRancisco & Delfina and 3 of their children are buried in San Antonio, Texas--so I beleive that they may have also lived their last years in San Antonio. If these names sound familiar please let me know.

Well first I would like to say hello to all of the Arispes' out that and hopefully by posting this message that I will find other family members. Nowing my father John Cordonado Arispe Sr. is of three children, his brother Silvano Medina, and I am in search for his only sister not sure on the name but I am in search for him. If there is anyone that can help or find my only aunt on my fahters side that had a mother by the name of Francis Medina which rested in peace on December 1, 1989. My Dad's Name is Manuel Arispe Jr. now living in Temple, Tx and his Dad of course was named Manuel. Even though I have traveled the world, I now live in San Antonio, my birth place. Hope this helps.

Well Hondo is close to Uvalde, not sure if it's the County for Hondo and the names don't sound familiar yet. Not sure if we are related to same Arispe's. I don't think Arispe is a common name. We still may be related.

Paul, sorry but have been on vacation. Yes, we are most likely working on the same family. This is not my family, but a dear friend and her family. She asked me to work on her husbands family for her children to know more about their family history.
Her husband Juan mother is a sister to Leopold Arispe. They have several grown children, one living in San Antonio and want to know if they have cousins there.

Hi everyone I am Lorenza S. Arispe, daughter of Ruben Garcia Arispe who is the son of Leopoldo Arispe and Lorenza Garcia Arispe. Oh my gooness I am in such great shock!! I am the daughter of Robert Arispe brother of David Arispe whom I have not seen in years. My grandfather was involved with some type of study with a firm called Lfesaver back in SanAntonio Texas years..I recall numerous conversations with my grandfather on this subjct..he even showed me documents pertaining to this..I was too young back then to understand the importance of this. At any rate I wuld love to share what I know of this and Iam intrested in hearing what you too have on the subject..I am sooo excited!!! I can only hopethat you are Mona my cousin who's mothers name is Diana from Milwaukee WI..also sister of Tracy and Lil Guy...Keeping my fingers crossed...I am about 40 mins away from Milwaukee!!!

I am looking up the info for the Arispe family for a friend and her family. Sergio is her son. I will give this info to her and hope she will follow through. I also gave her addresses where she can send for some of the death cert. that will give her dates and names. I tried to call her before I got on line, but she is not home. Jason, was your grandfather, Benito's father Ricardo (Tato)? If so then he the son of Leopoldo and Lorenza Garcia. If so I think the family I am helping is related to you. Did your Manuel Arispe marry more than once. I have a Manuel E. Arispe who married Rose F. Flores in San Antonio, Texas. I was told he married several times, and I have found where he did marry Ester Herrera and I think, but not sure yet about Janita Cassanova, both from San Antonio, also. Do you have any dates for your Manuel. I have several, one says he died in Dec 1928. Another, the death index for Texas, says 27 Dec 1927, but I was told orally, by Juan Arispe that he thought he died in 1925. Any help would be appreciated. I am leaving for a 2 week vacation, but will get back with you when I return on the 24th of July, if this Manuel is the same as yours. Thanks.

Delma, my cousins name is Gloria Arispe and the phone number I got on her is from the White Pages, just look it up under Waukegan, ILL. It aslo gives you the address. Her father's name is Tony Arispe, I don't know if Tony is short for something......my mom knows more about my family than I do. I'll have to contact her and then I'll tell you when I find out. Lorensa was my grandmother and I also found out she passed by looking in the Social Security Death Index. Her and Leopoldo passed away in 1996. It gives specific dates if you want to look there.

Mona, yes there is a David Arispe in this family that I am helping to find their roots, too! He is the son of Leopoldo Arispe and wife Lorenza Garcia. He had a brother Ricardo (Tato)Arispe, who had a son named Benito. I've just started research on this family and don't have any dates as of yet that I have verfied. However, Lorenza died in Waukegan, Ill. I would like to have the cousins name also with address and maybe the three of us could put this family together.
