Christine Marie Armbruster
Christine Marie Armbruster, "Aunt Sis", age 91 of Erie, died February 3, 2009. She was born in Erie on April 5, 1917 to the late Alfred and Mary Grace Armbruster. Christine was a resident of Erie most of her life. She grew up and attended school in Corona, Calif., and returned to Erie with her family after World War II. She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Christine cared for her mother and donated much of her free time serving others at the Emmaus Soup Kitchen. Christine worked at General Electric as a shipping clerk for 20 years, retiring in 1977. She was dedicated to her nieces and nephews and their families and loved spending time with them. She was generous to everyone and loved by all. Christine is survived by her brother, John W. Armbruster and his wife, Helen of Lawrence Park, and six nieces and nephews, Kathy Haupt and her husband, Gary of Albion, Jack Armbruster and his wife, Janet of Lawrence Park, Dan Armbruster and his wife, Debbie of Harborcreek, Jim Armbruster and his wife, Debbie of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Bob Armbruster and his wife, Joy of Greene Township, and Mary Ann Brown and her husband, Tom of Lawrence Park. Friends may call at the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home, Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning St. Mark the Evangelist Church 695 Smithson Ave., Lawrence Park at 10:00 a.m. Burial in Trinity Cemetery In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the Emmaus Soup Kitchen. 218 East 11th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
