I have found that my Gr Grandfather, Thomas Alexander Armour, Was born in Pittsburg, Pa. Westmoreland from what I gather, and he was born in 1852. His Father was Samuel Armour who I believe married Eliza Jamison. They ended up in Sparta, Illinois, and Thomas died there. His wife moved to Arizona with the rest of the family, where she died in 1930. William Fenton Armour was my grandfather, and my father was paul Armour. Please let me know if you have any connections. Thank you. Anne Armour Barnett. annemariebarnett@yahoo.com

Hi,
I wasn't able to get any further using ancestry.com, and didn't find him on any family trees, but I would suggest that you take a look at the website scotlandspeople.gov.uk It is a pay per view site where you purchase credits. I have used it before with good success.
Christopher must have been born after 1925 if he served in WW2. All the best in your search,
Janet

Chris David Armour

I'm looking for information on Chris David (C.D.) Armour with an address in around 1946 of 15 Roman Road, Gavinburn, Old Kilpatrick (near Glasgow, Scotland). He was a friend of my family and sent gifts when my mother was born along with a hand written letter. From the stories I heard, my grandfather cared for his mother possibly named Jean(epeliptic?) and he became friends with Chris when serving in the war. My grandfather (Frederick E S Watson)lived in Mosse Jaw, and later Weyburn, Saskatchewan Canada. I'm told Chris was married but had no children?

Hi. This is my first message here, I only joined to respond to your post.
David Paton Armour and Isabella Mcadam are my great grandparents. Their daughter (my gran) was called Mary Paton Armour and she married James Lieth Ironside Ferguson (my grandfather). I think my gran had about 4 brothers but would have to ask relatives to be sure. I only met one of them who was named Fred, his wife was Muriel.
My gran and granfather (James Ferguson and Mary Armour) had 5 children - Nancy, Isabella (known as Isa), George, John, and my father James (known as Jim) who was the youngest.
Are you a relative ? If theres anything else youd like to know just let me know, happy to help.
jim

Armour Family of North York (Toronto)

I am working on the Dalziel family history. Mary Dalziel (b 1807, Lanarkshire Scotland) daughter of John Dalziel & Ann Bell Dalziel married John Armour (of Toronto) - I know that their great grandson was Gen. Andrew G. L. McNaughton, and I know that his mother was Christina Mary Ann Armour & father Robert Duncan McNaughton - what I am having problems with is connecting Christina Mary Ann Armour into the Armour family. I think she was the daughter of William Armour & Ann (Annie) Prentice and that her birth date was 1864 - but I found a Christina Mary Ann Armour with a mother Annie Crisp in the household of William T. Crisp (1871 & 81 Canadian Census). I assume that William Armour died shortly after she was born and Ann remarried to Wm. Crisp - I can't find a marriage for Ann & Willima Crisp or a death registration for William Armour or for that matter a birth registration for Christina Mary Ann Armour.

Can anyone tell me if I am assuming correctly about the parentage of Christina Mary Ann Armour (Mrs. Robert Duncan McNaughton). Thanks for any help on this.
Diane
