I am searching for info about Robert Armstrong b.1898 (approx)in Danville Kentucky.d.1978 in Cochise County Az.
He spent a large number of years in Iowa,Linn County.
He came from a large family, siblings include:Ruth,Barbara,Oscar,James-Calvin,Virginia,Frances,Lucy, Emeline,Howard,Lucy,
Parents were James Hamilton Armstrong & Lucy Ellen Bacon
1918:Draft Registration, in Linn County Iowa,working as a waiter in a resturant
1920: Living in Iowa(by this time his father had passed &Lucy his widow remarried a man named Louis Crouch...the younger children of the family and Lucy were listed in 1920 US Federal Census under the name "Crouch."
1930: Robert Martin Armstrong may have been in Arizona by this time(...on the run for robbery & manslaughter in the midwest)
1936-37:Was still "at large" a bar tender in Mesa Az where he met Reva Mylott and had a son named Jerry Martin Armstrong ( my dad)in Feb 1938.
1938:In Beaumont California had another son w/Reva Mylott named Robert Bernard Armstrong.
1939-1940:Attended trial for felonies...wife and children given money by sentencing judge to return back west..
1946 Robert Armstrong applied for SSN from Johnson County Iowa, was living in a motel, working as waiter in a resturant.
1978:R Armstrong died age 81 in Cochise County Arizona
Would appreciate if any Armstrongs with any info respond.
