Re: Armsworthy Family - death certificates

FYI: Andrew Jackson and Louvenia Armsworthy death certs

I found the following 2 death certificates at the new LDS FamilySearch pilot site in the Texas Deaths 1890-1976 collection. It displays info (which I copy below), and images of the original death certificates, if available.

link:
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0

My gg-grandfather was the Andrew Jackson Armsworthy, who married Emily P. Peterson 9 Dec 1867 in Cass County. I've only recently come across info on Louvenia and don't quite know what to make of the similarities between A.J. and Louvenia's parents names as listed on their death certs.

They must've been related, but it's unclear that they were siblings. Although, their birthdates are only 7 years apart, so it cannot be ruled out.

If anyone has a source that documents their relationship, I'd appreciate knowing about it.

ANDREW JACKSON ARMSWORTHY:

Name: A.
Looking for parents/siblings of Andrew Jackson Armsworthy (1843-1931) or is wife Emily P. Peterson (1843-1902). Birthplaces and date of marriage would be good, too.

They had 5 children, at least 2 of which were born in Cass County, Texas:
Mary Catherine (Sept 22, 1868 - Apr 24, 1934)
Andrew Lowe (1870 - 1900)
Marvin Alice (Sept 24, 1871 - ?)
Louis Hank (1873 - ?)
Martha K. (1884 - 1978)

Andrew and Emily were my gg-grandparents on my father's side... through Mary Catherine, who was the 3rd wife of Samuel Franklin McCauley (1844-1922).
I know you haven't rec'd the info I promised but I thought I would search a bit more since I had planned on being in Austin and Houston soon.
Jehu is the son of either John or Joseph Armsworthy (brothers) from Rowan Co., NC. In the 1820 census, they are living next to Rebecca Armsworthy, the widow of a John Armsworthy who evidently died just before the census was taken.
In an 1821 court document, Rebecca is the guardian of two girls, while two Armsworthy boys are in the custody of someone else. If Jehu, being born abt 1818, were this John (Sr.) and Rebecca's child, he would be listed, so he is prob. John (Jr.) or Joseph's.
Anyway, I have the notes to give you. They are limited but may lead to something else. I'll send them to you soon.>>>>Bill

Hello Ethelyn, I have Jehu or Jahugh or John Hubbard Armsworthy married to Jane Pankey in Hardeman Co. Tenn.
In the list of marriages for Hardeman Co. it's John H. Armsworthy married Jane Panky Jan. 1844. I'm not sure
which one it is. Anyhow I have their children as Andrew Jackson, Rebecca, Lavinia(Louvenia), Hester Melinda,
Hugh Milton and Valerie Mildred. I only have children for Hester and Benjamin Lee Fielder. They are Laura,
Maud Lee, Massey W., Pearl Lou, Katherin Jane, Ula, Cornelia Magdalene, Alva Edgar, Henry Grady and Lucille.
The parents of Jane Pankey are Mastin D. Pankey and Martha Chisolm. I haven't found the parents of J. Armsworthy
yet. I would be interested in the children of Louvenia and George Wilmoth if you don't mind.
Thank you paula

My great grandmother was Louvenia Whitworth Armsworthy who married George W. Wilmoth. They lived in Atlanta, Cass Co., TX. She died about 1920. I have not been able to find who her parents or siblings were. However, there were two Armsworthy marriages in Cass Co. in the late 1860's and 1870's. One was named Hester Armsworthy who married Benjamin Fielder in 1875. This could be a sister since Louvenia named her first child Hester Edith. The other was A. J.Armsworthy who married E.P. Petterson in 1867. That is all I have.
