Arn family of Durrn, Germany

I have information on my husband's branch of Arns who emigrated from Durrn, Germany on October 28, 1850. They eventually settled in the Delhi, Ontario area of Canada via the Erie Canal. They had landed on February 14, 1851 in Hobochen, New Jersey, U.S.A. The family that emigrated from Durrn was Kornelius Arn (born 1795) his wife Karoline Wilhelmene Bossert Arn (born 1797) and nine or ten of their seventeen children. The remainder of the children died young and are buried in Germany.

Kornelius had been a farmer in Durrn in 1836 and a 'burgomaster' in 1837. His grandfather is 'supposedly' a Martin Arn (born 1696, died 1753, married 1742(second wife) Regina Catharina).

Two of Kornelius Arn's siblings were 'supposedly' named Johann Jacob and Daniel.

Kornelius Arn's great grandfather was 'supposedly' Johannes Arn who was born circa 1646 in Switzerland, died May 23, 1702 Durrn, Germany & married Katharine Klumpp.

Any information on these distant branches would be most welcome.

JOHN ARN WAS BORN AT BERN, SWITZERLAND, JAN 25, 1845. TIME OF MIGRATION TO AMERICA IS UNKNOWN. MARRIED IN 1873, ANNA PETERS (SHE MAY HAVE TAKEN THE NAME OF HER STEP-FATHER, REINGER.) WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE NAMES OF JOHNS PARENTS AND WHEN HE CAME TO AMERICA.

Elizabeth B. Arn

1947-2002

Elizabeth B. Arn, 55, of Cheyenne died Dec. 30 at United Medical Center-West.

She was born Feb. 18, 1947, in Long Beach, Calif., and had lived here for 10 years.

Mrs. Arn was a member of Cheyenne Hills Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Mark" Arn of Cheyenne whom she married Aug. 29, 1969; a
son, David Arn of San Diego, Calif.; her parents, Thomas and Lois Shaw of Security, Colo.; a
brother, Thomas E. Shaw, Jr., of Colordao Springs, Colo., and a sister, Patricia Hlavinka of
East Bernard, Texas.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jonathan Arn and Jason Arn.

She was a dedicated wife and mother with a committment to family and friends through her deep
and abiding faith in Jesus Christ.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Cheyenne Hills Church with Pastor Dick Yound
officiating.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Friends may contribute to Gideons International

Services are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are.
This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Arn.

My great-grandmother, Katharine Elizabeth Arn, born around 1867 (place, date unk.) married Alfred Rice Gardner (place date unk.). She died in 1938 at about age 68. She had 6 children: Lloyd Warren Gardner b. 4/28/1895 m.Ferne Marie Johnson; Florence G. Bopp b. 1/6/97, m. Bernard Bopp, 2 children James (my father) and H. Jane; Ruth Helen Jensen b. 11/5/98 m.
