Searching for information on Anna E Rogers who died in Mangum, Greer Co., OK. Anna was born in Warren Co., Missouri to M. M. Arnall and Julia Ann Daugherty, in Dec of 1852. According to state and federal records the name Arnall has often times been confused with Arnold.
The Arnalls located to Audrain Co., MO in 1880 where Anna was later married. The marriage record contains the common error of the name Arnall, stating the union of John W. Rogers to Anna E. Arnold on 3 Sep 1885.
John and Anna then locate to Stoddard Co., MO, where they have their first child Effie May Rogers on 21 Nov 1886.
By 1889 the Rogers moved back to Audrain Co., MO and had a son by the name Felix Martin Rogers born 13 May 1889.
Things become very confusing on the movements and even family members of the Rogers after 1890. According to a 1900 census in Audrain Co., MO Anna is now a widow and living with her brother W. J. Arnall along with her children. What’s more, a third child appears in this census by the name Enoch B. Rogers born in Feb of 1892. Obviously the third child survived infancy however neither the descendants of Effie or Felix recall this sibling nor do their death notices.
Sometime around 1904 Anna and her son Felix and possibly this third child Enoch move to Oklahoma. A death notice appearing in the Mexico Intelligencer (Audrain Co., MO) 23 Apr 1908 states the following: “Word was received here last week of the death of Mrs. Rodgers of Oklahoma. Mrs. Rodgers was a sisters [sec] of Felix and Tommie Arnall, formerly of this county and mother of Mrs. Harvey Robinson of this vicinity. Mrs. Rodgers has many friends here who regret to hear of her death.â€
Based on research I believe that Anna had located to Mangum, Greer Co., OK. I also know her son Felix married Mable Edith Blancet in Manitou OK, on 8 Aug 1909 and is found in the 1910 census in Manitou living with his new bride and her parents. I don’t what becomes of this Enoch B. Rogers. Additionally, I have been unable to locate when and where John W Rogers died.
Anyone who might have knowledge of these individuals or events, your insight is greatly appreciated.
