Jennifer,
May I ask you, if you have any DTP (Definitive Tangible Proof) that ties Jacob Arney (of North Carolina) to Frederick Ernigh (of Pennsylvania)? Frederick Ernigh (Earney) died in Pennsylvania in 1771, unfortunately before the official Federal Census of 1790.
Do you have any DTP of Jacob Arney being born in Transylvania, North Carolina? If Jacob Arney (the one who died in Lincoln County, NC in 1784) was born in NC, why would his son, Christian Arney be born in York County, PA in 1750?
I have been researching my Jacob Arney, who died in Lincoln County, North Carolina, for over 30 years. I too, thought this Jacob Arney was the son of Frederick, until I was shown otherwise, by Dr. Tom Rider, through the Pennsylvania Archives. I found Arney's in Berks County, PA and Pennsylvania County, PA (which would later become Montgomery County, PA), but have yet to find any in record of Arney's in York County, PA. Which seems quite odd since Christian Arney was born there in 1750.
I would appreciate any enlightenment you (or anyone else) can give on Jacob Arney (who moved his family from Pennsylvania to North Carolina in 1767, and died in Lincoln County, NC in 1784). This Jacob Arney, the father of Christian Arney, Sr. (who also died in Lincoln County, NC) and the father of Peter Arney (who was born in Tryon/Lincoln County, NC in 1772 and died in Overton County, Tennessee in 1845).
Thank you for your time, consideration, and cooperation, in this matter, I truly appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Stan Arney
