Hello everyone,
You have probably run across my postings all over the Internet, trying to solve this mystery.
Dr. Tom Rider was the person who showed me that my branch of the Arney's was NOT a part of the Frederick Ernigh (who arrived in the USA in 1732)line.

I just finished going back over the Pennsylvania State Archives, via the Internet, and found Arney's (various spellings of) in two areas: Colebrookdale Township, in Berks County, Pennsylvania and Douglass Township, in Pennsylvania County, Pennsylvania. These people seem to be the ones related to Frederick Ernigh, see below:

Fredrick Earney was in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, PA in 1767 & 1768

John Earney was in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, PA in 1767 & 1768
John Erne was in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, PA in 1781

Michael Erney was in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, PA in 1780
Michael Erne was in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, PA in 1779, 1781 & 1785
Mich’l Earny was in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County, PA in 1784

Jacob Arney was in Douglas Township, Pennsylvania County, PA in 1769
Jacob Earney was in Douglass Township, Pennsylvania County, PA in 1774

John Earney was in Douglass Township, Pennsylvania County, PA in 1774, 1779, & 1780

Barbara Earney was in Douglass Township, Philadelphia County, PA in 1779
Widow Earney was in Douglass Township, Philadelphia County, PA in 1780, 1782, 1783

If Barbara Earney and Widow Earney are one and the same woman, and she was the wife of Jacob Earney, then this would be proof enough that this Jacob died in Pennsylvania.

A dead Jacob could NOT possibly move to North Carolina and die again!

Where this knowledge does show me where Jacob, the son of Frederick was, it does NOT give me any DTP (Definitive Tangible Proof)as to where my Jacob Arney was prior to moving his family from Pennsylvania to North Carolina (in 1767).

Is there anyone else out there wanting to help solve this mystery? If so, please contact me, so that we can collaborate our efforts and find what could be termed as this branch of the Arney's "holy grail"

Remember, the Jacob Arney mystery we are trying to solve is who were his siblings, who were his parents, where was he born, etc.

We know that THIS Jacob Arney was the father of Christian Arney, Sr. born in 1750 in Yorktown, York County, Pennsylvania. We know that THIS Jacob Arney died in Lincoln County, North Carolina in 1784. We know that Christian Arney, Sr. died in Lincoln County, North Carolina in 1834. We know that THIS Jacob Arney moved his family (including Christian Arney, Sr.) from Pennsylvania to North Carolina in 1767. We know that this Jacob Arney had a son, Peter, born in Tryon County, North Carolina in 1772.

What we now need to do is work backwards, finding DTP of Jacob Arney's presence in Pennsylvania prior to 1767. Finding documentation of his children's births or christenings, etc. Finding documentation of marriage, land dealings (selling or purchasing), tax rolls, etc.

The Pennsylvania Archives is NOT going to yield any information on him, unfortunately, but we must search for other documentation.

Thank you for your time, consideration and cooperation, in this matter, I truly appreciate it.

Stan
